Before starring as Jessica Jones in the MCU, Krysten Ritter was popularly known for her role in Bryan Cranston’s iconic TV series Breaking Bad. Not just that, the actress even reprised her role as Jane Margolis in Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad epilogue, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019).

Speaking about her filming experience on the 2019 sequel that followed the storyline of Aaron Paul’s Jesse, immediately after Breaking Bad, Krysten Ritter admitted to being on cloud nine about reprising her role. However, during that very interview with THR, the actress recalled her emotional Breaking Bad death scene, which she still hasn’t recovered from.

If you’ve seen Netflix‘s highly anticipated “Breaking Bad” follow-up from last fall, you know why Aaron Paul is an Emmys front-runner for reprising his role as meth-making tragic hero Jesse Pinkman. But there’s one other former cast member who appears throughout “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” that I’m hoping awards voters will also consider: Jesse Plemons.
Plemons’ role as creepy Todd Alquist, an aspiring meth cook and nephew of white supremacists, came to a brutal end in the 2013 series finale of “Breaking Bad” when Jesse broke free of his cage and choked him with a chain. But thanks to flashbacks, fans experienced even more of Todd in “El Camino,” with Plemons giving a career-best performance. Back when Todd was keeping Jesse in captivity, there was one weekend where he let the scraggly prisoner out to help him with a “favor.” As it turns out, Todd...

Now that you’ve seen Netflix‘s highly anticipated “Breaking Bad” movie — and if you haven’t, stop reading this spoiler-filled article right now! — you know that Aaron Paul should dust off his awards mantel to prep for the likely onslaught of statuettes he’s about to receive for reprising his role as meth-making tragic hero Jesse Pinkman. But there’s one other former cast member who appears throughout “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” that I’m hoping awards voters will also consider: Jesse Plemons.
As “Breaking Bad” viewers may recall, Plemons’ role as creepy Todd Alquist, an aspiring meth cook and nephew of white supremacists, came to a brutal end in the 2013 series finale when Jesse broke free of his cage and choked him with a chain. While that was the end of Todd in the TV series, he pops up in several key flashbacks in Netflix’s film.

(Warning: This story contains Major spoilers for “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie,” so stop reading Now if you don’t want to find out what happens in the film.)
“El Camino” ends the same way it began: With a flashback featuring a dead “Breaking Bad” character. But that was not always the plan.
Right after Ed (Robert Forster) drops Jesse (Aaron Paul) off in Alaska to start anew, the free former meth cook hands him a “goodbye” letter. Though not privy to its contents, the audience catches a glimpse of the name on the envelope: Brock Cantillo.
Paul told TheWrap that Vince Gilligan had initially planned to end the film with a voiceover revealing the contents of the letter. “That was the very first thing that Vince wrote when he wrote the script,” Paul explains. “Originally, in the first draft of the script, that’s how the story ended.

Jesse Pinkman went through quite the journey on Breaking Bad and they all led up to his own Breaking Bad movie, El Camino.
Jesse Pinkman was never supposed to make it that long on Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, who is refreshingly open about communicating the thought process behind creating one of TV's best ever shows, says he envisioned Jesse Pinkman dying at the conclusion of Breaking Bad's first season. Then two bits of divine intervention occurred. The writer's strike of 2008 made it so that Breaking Bad season 1 didn't even get an ending for Jesse to be killed in. But even if it did, the stunning performance of Aaron Paul made it a near impossibility for Gilligan to follow through on his initial plan.

Ever since the end of Breaking Bad all the way back in 2013, fans have been clamoring to get more information about its characters and backstory, especially concerning Jesse Pinkman, the only main player to make it to the end of the series alive. Now, we’re finally getting the chance to dive back into that world with El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
The Netflix original has already been wrapped and is ready for release, though few details are available about its narrative, other than the fact that it’ll follow Jesse’s story after he escaped from his captors in the final chapter of the series. Aaron Paul, who once again reprises his role as Pinkman, recently teased some of the other familiar faces that will show up in El Camino and though he wouldn’t divulge any specifics, he did offer the following:
