Eleven years ago, the dance musician Illenium survived a heroin overdose after years of struggling with an opiate addiction. He first shared the personal story with his fans in 2018 when he was six years into his sobriety. Since then, an uptick in deaths related to drug overdoses, particularly those linked to fentanyl, has inspired Illenium to amplify potentially life-saving safety practices alongside the non-profit organization End Overdose.

2022 has been the year for audio releases, from Sony’s Wh-1000XM5 to the Mark Levinson No 5909 Headphones. That said, one of the most highly anticipated releases from this year has to be the Bowers and Wilkins Px8 wireless headphones and we put them to the test for the week to see if they lived up to their 700 price point.
This meant testing their noise-cancellation features, checking out their comfort level, and even maxing out the battery life to see if I could make it days without re-charging (spoiler alert:...

Festival season is back in full force. After cancellations over the past two years, large-scale music fests including Coachella, Primavera Sound and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival are returning as mask mandates ease and coronavirus vaccination rates rise.
Unlike last year’s events, most festival organizers are no longer requiring proof of vaccination or negative Covid-19 test for entry. The CDC’s guidance for large events and gatherings notes, “You are less likely to be exposed to Covid-19 during outdoor activities, even without the use of masks” and that wearing a face mask is generally not required outdoors.

Pandemic? What pandemic? That seemed to be the vibe among the 68,000 people at Garth Brooks’ concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the first major stadium concert anywhere in the U.S. since the arrival of Covid-19.
Social distancing? Nope. Masks? Maybe a few wore them. Heck, Brooks even shared M&m’s with the crowd at one point.
While there is certainly some trepidation about a mass indoor gathering right now — especially with the emergence of the more transmissible delta variant — the semblance of normalcy outweighed everything else on Saturday night.
