The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given birth to a number of fan theories through decades, from which only a few were later confirmed. Since MCU began connecting universes in the superhero genre, with Robert Downey Jr.’s 2008 Iron Man, the franchise simply continued expanding and creating new stories and theories.
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in a still from Iron Man 3
MCU’s connected universes simply offered viewers the opportunity to come up with theories on how some movies, characters, and events are connected. One of the most controversial twists that ended up being a theory of its own was spotted in Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man 3. Surrounding the story of The Mandarin, the movie created a major mistake that gave birth to a fan theory, which had to be later corrected by another hit film.

Shane Black's 2013 superhero film "Iron Man 3" is handily one of the best films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It depicted a beleaguered and emotionally wounded Tony Stark working through his battlefield trauma by building multiple Iron Man suits in his lab, and trying his hardest not to fight. That plan is interrupted by the appearance of a vicious terrorist calling himself the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley), a ring-wearing murderer who is behind a series of deadly bombings around the world. Tony, in a fit of rage, gives out his previously secret home address on national TV, instigating an immediate attack from the Mandarin that destroys Tony's massive Malibu home. Oops.
Tony, naturally, goes on a worldwide hunt to find the Mandarin and bring him to justice, which he eventually does. In one of the McU's cleverest twists, however, it is revealed that the Mandarin is fake. The threatening terrorist...

Walt Disney Studios has removed “Magazine Dreams,” a dark drama starring Jonathan Majors, off of the release calendar. The film, which Disney’s subsidiary Searchlight Pictures purchased out of Sundance, was slated to premiere on Dec. 8. However, Majors has become embroiled in legal issues involving assault and aggravated harassment allegations stemming from a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The actor has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges.
The studio also delayed the debut of its live-action version of “Snow White” by nearly a year. It will now open on March 21, 2025. “Snow White,” which stars Rachel Zegler as the beautiful princess who has a bad experience with an apple and Gal Gadot as the evil queen, was originally slated to debut on March 22, 2024.

Israeli doctors have successfully reattached a Palestinian boy’s decapitated head.
Suleiman Hassan, 12, was riding his bike when he was hit by a car. The accident caused internal decapitation, which is when the skull and spine are no longer attached, but the skin remains untouched.
Over 70% of internal decapitation victims die in an instant.
Dr. Ohad Einav, who is one of the medical professionals who operated on Hassan, said that they “fought for the boy’s life.”
“The procedure itself is very complicated and took several hours,” Dr. Einav told The Times of Israel. “While in the operating room, we used new plates and fixations in the damaged area.”
Einav credited the medical team’s knowledge and “most innovative technology in the operating room” for their successful operation. He also suggested that Hassan is recovering without any major side effects.

This post contains spoilers for Secret Invasion, Episode Two.
Although she went about it in perhaps the worst way possible, MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth did uncover some crucial information in the latest episode of Secret Invasion. Not only are the Skrulls here on Earth, but they have a plan to get stronger.
More palatable is the way that G’iah discovers similar information, tailing a fellow Skrull to a secret lab. There, she overhears scientists talking about a Harvest, complete with DNA from various creatures. Some of those creatures we recognize, such as the beloved Guardian of the Galaxy Groot and the Frost Beast battled by Thor. But you might need a quick refresher about the other two notable examples, the remains of an Extremis soldier and the arm of Cull Obsidian. More importantly, the secret lab and the samples raise a question: What is the Skrulls’ real plan?

San Francisco, May 21 (Ians) Elon Musk apparently told a Twitter investor during a 4 a.m. call that he would pay the company’s office rent “over my dead body”.
According to a new lawsuit filed by six former Twitter employees against Twitter, Pablo Mendoza, a venture capitalist who invested in Twitter 2.0, had a chat with Musk in the wee hours, reports Business Insider.
Musk bluntly told Mendoza that not paying rent was non-negotiable with ‘over his dead body’ remark.
The lawsuit said that Joseph Killian, a plaintiff who worked at Twitter for 12 years and oversaw office design, was aware that Musk decided to stop paying office rent.
“Killian attempted to convince Musk, via Mendoza, of the danger of Musk’s new position that no rent would be paid whatsoever, pointing out that any attempt to renegotiate the terms of Twitter’s many leases would be doomed to failure,” the lawsuit alleged.

San Francisco, May 20 (Ians) The city officials here are opening an investigation into Twitter following a lawsuit from former employees who claimed that Elon Musk’s transition team deliberately planned to breach contracts and not pay promised severance, among other things.
The lawsuit from six employees alleged that Musk’s team “knowingly broke local and federal laws,” reports San Francisco Chronicle.
They are seeking severance and punitive damages for “flagrant bad faith”.
“Twitter’s new leadership deliberately, specifically, and repeatedly announced their intentions to breach contracts, violate laws, and otherwise ignore their legal obligations,” the six former employees alleged in a lawsuit filed in the Delaware federal court in the US.
The former employees alleged that Musk’s team instructed staff to disable lights and “install locks that wouldn’t open during an emergency at employee bedrooms at 1355 Market St., violating building codes”.

Six former employees have sued Elon Musk and Twitter over broken severance promises in a lawsuit that also shines a light on the allegedly dysfunctional inner workings of the social media company in the aftermath of Musk’s acquisition.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in a Delaware district court and obtained by Rolling Stone, accuses Musk, Twitter, and parent company X Corp. of fraud, wage theft, breach of contract, and more after the six employees “were fired or constructively discharged” from Twitter despite a pre-acquisition merger agreement.

If East New York had to wrap things up, this was how to do it.
East New York Season 1 Episode 21, they ended the official police business a few minutes early so that it could end with the 7-4 celebrating being together and the work they each do to make a difference in their community.
It underscored how important this series was and how huge a hole it'll leave in our hearts.
Throughout the hour, I was scared that Donaldson might get his way now that the series was ending. Thankfully, East New York ended on a happier note than that!
But could that man have been any more of an asshole? He claimed that Reigna was a "divisive" figure, but the only one doing any dividing was him.

East New York aired its finale this Sunday night, six days after CBS cancelled the freshman cop drama. Were viewers left with any cliffhangers that might never be resolved, if the show fails to find a new home?
The episode “Ruskin Roulette” picked up the morning after the shooting at the titular project that Quinlan calls home. Two were killed, including drug dealer Orlando, and another two were wounded: hoodlum Dwayne (who took a bullet in the arm), and Lorenzo’s daughter Ingrid (shot in a leg).

Sandeford wasn't kidding when he said secrets never survive murder.
But did anyone expect the person with the secrets to be the Bureau Chief pulling out all the stops to help the cops investigate his Ada's murder?
East New York Season 1 Episode 19 told a story that would have fit in on Law & Order: Svu but put its own unique spin on it.
Wexler's involvement in the murder was a twist I didn't see coming! He seemed upset by Diane's death and offered to help the cops get the resources they needed to close the case without giving off any weird vibes.
But when the cops found out he had been spying on Diane, everything changed. Wexler didn't want to give them the recordings he'd gotten from the listening device, raising their hackles -- and mine.

More good programming coming your way this week. If you think it sounds bad, but we say it's good, have some faith!!
This week, you can't go wrong with Hallmark's A Pinch of Portugal, Amityville: An Origin Story on MGM+ (it follows the From premiere!), or Saint X on Hulu.
Love & Death on HBO Max is well worth the watch (no matter how much you know about the story), and the movie Clock on Hulu will give women nightmares. We're loving these female-driven productions.
See what else we recommend below.

Justice is supposed to be equal, but East New York consistently demonstrates that it's not.
In the projects, the cops are often quick to make arrests and slow to respond to calls for help -- something Regina is trying to change in her neighborhood.
But on East New York Season 1 Episode 19, the higher-ups pull out all the stops when an assistant district attorney is found dead after a court appearance. How will the people who live in the area feel about this seeming prioritization of some lives over others?
In some ways, the focus on this unexplained death makes sense.
The Ada loses her life soon after a court appearance, suggesting someone wanted to stop a trial or get revenge for a successful prosecution. If this murder goes unsolved, it could have a chilling effect on the court system.

Regina took over the 7-4 to ensure that the police took neighborhood residents' complaints as seriously as those of white, wealthier people.
She's proven repeatedly that she means it, gradually gaining people's trust as she closes cases that no one else paid attention to.
Sometimes that's a tall order. East New York Season 1 Episode 11 spoilers suggest that a new case might be the most formidable challenge to Regina's mission yet.
The night's biggest story will be that a young dancer's body turns up on the tracks. According to the spoiler video, Regina reassures the victim's grief-stricken mother that she wants to find out who killed the girl as much as the mother does.
But will Regina be able to keep that promise? This appears to be a tough case where leads are scarce if they exist. And if the police can't solve this murder, the mother will be twice as...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest and most successful franchise in pop culture history. Fans and critics alike have delighted at what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has pulled off, turning a popular film series into a sprawling saga spanning the galaxy, the time-space continuum, and now multiple dimensions. While it may be tempting to attribute the McU's triumph to the novelty of basing a franchise on such an expansive and interconnected universe, that's only part of what keeps audiences coming back for every new film and TV show. Filled with talented actors, engaging stories, humor, and breathtaking fight scenes, nearly every chapter in the MCU has been a crowd-pleaser.
However, as entertaining as the MCU is, it's not without its flaws. Because of the ever-growing nature of the overarching story, there are bound to be plot holes and narrative threads that fall by the wayside. Some of these...

Winter finales tend to go big, and East New York's is no exception!
On East New York Season 1 Episode 9, Regina takes on corruption in the NYPD when a potential whistleblower commits suicide.
She's not going to let this one go, but how will the brass retaliate for this investigation?
Regina will likely come out on top, but we might need to wait until 2023 to find out how. East New York will need a huge cliffhanger to keep people talking throughout the long hiatus; the winter finale could end with Regina facing a hearing or other disciplinary action!
She was able to make a fool out of Chief Donaldson, who was desperate to brand her as a chaos-causing maverick, but that doesn't mean he won't try again -- especially if he's one of the investigation's targets!

Can people change?
East New York Season 1 Episode 3 asked that pivotal question, and it seemed like the answer was yes (despite what Killian thought).
But if Regina doesn't learn to play the political game, she might not be able to continue doing that work.
Regina and Deputy Mayor Sharpe again butted heads after Sharpe brought Vincent's grandmother to the precinct to demand her grandson be released. Regina was right to throw the two out.
Vincent's grandmother didn't understand that Vincent had committed a serious crime. She thought that because he had no record and Regina was also Black, she'd release him immediately so he wouldn't become the victim of a racist justice system.

It often seems like there's a different justice system for rich, white men than for poor people, especially non-whites.
But not if Regina Hayward can help it!
On East New York Season 1 Episode 2, Regina fought for a grieving father to get the closure he needed, almost tanking her career.
Regina's fight for justice put her at odds with the brass. They wanted the hedge fund manager's murder to be solved yesterday and couldn't care less if the Hilliard case languished endlessly.
That put her in a tough spot. She wanted people to know the truth about what was happening, but Suarez was right that if the brass knew she was the one blowing the whistle, she'd lose her command.

CBS‘ upcoming police drama East New York has added Caitlin Mehner (Dopesick), Darien Sills-Evans (Superior Donuts), and C.S. Lee (Dexter) to its cast in recurring roles. According to Deadline, Mehner will play Corinne Moynahan, the girlfriend of Detective Tommy Killian (Kevin Rankin). She works in the restaurant industry, having experience both in front-of-the-house and the back, and is driven to become more independent. Corinne likes that Killian is protective but also gets annoyed when he becomes overbearing. Sills-Evans will portray Deputy Mayor Raymond Sharpe, the polished and intuitive councilman native to East New York. Meanwhile, Lee will play Desk Sergeant Jimmy Kee, who keeps order and decorum in the precinct. Kee doesn’t have time for slobs or loudmouths — whether cops or civilians. Created by William Finkelstein and Mike Flynn, the series revolves around Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood (Amanda Warren), the newly promoted commanding officer of East New York, a poor,...
