He was previously married to Tawny Kitaen and Julia ?.- Alix of Hess-Darmstadt was born on June 8, 1872 in Darmstadt, Germany. Her parents were the Grand Duke and Duchess of Darmstadt; her mother was also the daughter of Queen Victoria. When Alix was still very young, her sister Mary and then her mother died of diphtheria. Also, her brother Frederick (1870-1873) died from a fall from a window in his mother's room, complicated by hemophilia. She spent much of her time in England, staying with her grandmother and various aunts, uncles and cousins. When she was older she continued in the role of Landsmutter (Mother of the land) for her father.
At the wedding of her sister Elizabeth (Ella) to their cousin Seril of Russia, Alix met for the first time (and fell in love with) the Tsarivitch Nicholas. Even thought she was in love with him she did not want to marry him because she did not want to give up her Protestantism to be Russian Orthodox. About 4 or 5 years after they first met Alix's brother Ernest got married to their first cousin nicknamed Ducky. Since both were cousins of Nicholas as well he went to the wedding to see Alex. During the time that he was there he continually asked her to be his wife, and thanks to their love as well as their cousin Kaiser William II Alex finally consented to marry Nicholas.
Alix spent the first part of her engagement with her grandmother Queen Victoria in England telling her everything that had transpired leading to the engagement. The rest of the engagement did not go so smoothly though. Several months after the engagement Nicholas's father became ill at one of his palaces in Russia. Alix hearing this got there as soon as she could, but shortly after she got there Nicholas became Tsar Nicholas II. After this tragedy Alix did not want to wait to become a member of the family. Shortly after the death of her future father-in-law Alix became a member of the Russian Orthodox Faith taking the name Alexandra Fyodorovna. She and Nicholas wanted to marry where they were, but family told them that they should get married after the funeral of his father in Moscow. Thus the people of Russia got their first glimpse of their future Empress through death.
They were married on November 26, 1894, shortly after the death of his father, and before 1901 had four daughters named Olga (1895-1918) Tatiana (1897-1918), Maria (1899-1918) and Anastasia (1901-1918). In 1904 Alix gave birth to a son Alexis (known as Alexei) and sadly he had hemophilia, which was passed on to her a sister and brother from their mother Princess Alice and grandmother Queen Victoria.
In 1917 Nicholas was forced to abdicate the throne of Russia. The people who would have accepted it if he had abdicated in favor of his son, did not understand why he abdicated in favor of his brother. He only did this because he knew that his son's chances of survival were not good.
He and his family were then imprisoned in Siberia, and later moved to Ekaterinburg, where on the night of July 17, 1918 the Russian royal family was massacred. In the 1990s the burial sites were investigated, although the bodies of the Tsarivitch Alexei and one of his sisters (it is unclear which one) were missing. Using DNA from HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh (Alix was his great-aunt) proved that four of the bodies belonged to the Tsarina and three of her daughters. - Writer

Born just before the century turned, Charles Bennett made his writing debut as a child in 1911, fought in France during World War I while still a teen and resumed his acting career after the war's end. In 1926 he dropped acting to concentrate on being a playwright, later turning one of his most famous plays, "Blackmail," into a screenplay for production under the direction of Alfred Hitchcock. The affiliation with "Hitch" continued into the early 1940s, by which time both Bennett and the director were working in Hollywood. He wrote for producers ranging from Cecil B. DeMille to Irwin Allen to the penny-pinching folks at AIP. "If I couldn't write, I wouldn't want to live," commented Bennett, who had projects (including a remake of "Blackmail") going right up to the time of his death.- Jaroslav Mares was born on 24 April 1921 in Husinec by Prachatice, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. His father had died before he was born. At the age of three he was sent to his grandmother, with whom he grew up until he was ten. Newton then returned to his mother. He attended school in nearby Grantham. From 1665 he studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. Among other things, he was taught there by the theologian, philologist and mathematician Isaac Barrow. In January 1665, Newton received his baccalaureate (high school diploma). An outbreak of bubonic plague led to the college's closure. Newton returned to his parents' home in Woolsthorpe. During this time he worked on infinitesimal calculus, the nature of light and gravity. It was not until 1667 that he resumed his studies at Cambridge. He dealt with the works of Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei and Robert Boyle. Newton's development of infinitesimal calculus (fluxion calculus) was groundbreaking in mathematics, as previously one could only deal with fixed quantities such as numbers. Newton's development opened up the possibility of expressing time-varying quantities such as physical forces or speeds in numbers.
Independently of Newton, the philosopher, mathematician and researcher Gottfried Wilhelm Freiherr von Leibniz developed a solution to this mathematical problem around the same time through his differential and integral calculus. Its naming as infinitesimal calculus ultimately prevailed. In 1669, Newton improved the telescope into a reflecting telescope by using inwardly curved lenses to concentrate light. In the same year he became a professor at Cambridge; He thus succeeded his teacher Barrow. In 1671 he demonstrated his invention to the London Royal Society. Newton presented his first scientific publication on the discovery of the nature of light to the Royal Society in 1672. In the same year he became a member. He was able to prove experimentally that white light consists of a mixture of colored light components. In doing so, he contradicted the previously common view that colored light was complex and white light was simple. Newton explained light as consisting of corpuscles. His scientific work "Optics" was not published until 1704.
In 1687, Newton published his three famous laws of motion in the book "Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica". The beginnings of this theory lay in the time of the plague, which led to the interruption of his studies and his stay in his parents' house. In this book, also known as "Principia", he also laid down Newton's law of gravitation: Every piece of matter has a so-called heavy mass, the cause of its attraction. - The force of gravity between two bodies is proportional to the product of their masses. - The change in gravity is inversely proportional to the square of their distance. An anecdote tells that Isaac Newton discovered the law of gravity when an apple fell on his head. Newton is said to have concluded from this that gravity also acts on the moon and that the moon's orbit must consist of two balancing forces - one is the centripetal force, which pulls the bodies to the center of the orbit, and the other is the centrifugal force, which is drawn by the moon Center strives away.
In the three "Principia" books, Newton dealt, in addition to the laws of motion, with planetary orbits, liquids and gases, the refutation of a vortex theory and the dependence of gravity on mass. From 1689 to 1690 Newton was elected MP for Cambridge University. In 1693 he suffered a severe nervous breakdown, which prevented him from further research. He then dealt with alchemy and religious questions. In 1696 he was appointed Mint Warden, supervisor of the royal mint. Three years later he was promoted to mint master, today comparable to finance minister. In 1700 Newton left Cambridge and moved to London. In 1703 he became president of the Royal Society there. In 1705 he became the first scientist to be knighted by the Royal Society. In 1713 and 1726, the three-volume work "Principia" was published for the second and third times, respectively.
