Director. Writer. Studied at the Deutsches Institut fuer Film und Fernsehen (DIFF) in Munich, Germany, as well as at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinematographiques (IDHEC) in Paris, France. In 1969 he founded the production company Hallelujah Film together with Volker Schlöndorff. Classically trained actor Theresa Sophie Albert studied drama at the prestigious Conservatory for Music and Art in Vienna and graduated with distinction. German is her mother tongue, she's fluent in English and speaks French well.
She is best known for her role in the Emmy-nominated series Charité (2017), the Amazon Prime Original series Hanna (2019) alongside Mireille Enos, and her frequent guest appearances in various primetime procedurals Letzte Spur Berlin (2012) just to name a few. She has worked with international directors such as Jon Jones from the UK and Thierry Pradervand from Switzerland.
A veritable multi-hyphenate, Theresa has co-written, -directed, and -produced several critically acclaimed films, most notably the drama Bergen (2019). The movie won multiple awards, e.g. the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Berlin Flash Film Festival, and made it into the Official Selection Toronto Shorts International Film Festival. The most recent project she's developing is a tragicomic limited series Gigi, in which she also plays the lead role.
Theresa has bases in Berlin, Vienna, and Cologne and is especially interested in the genres of thriller and tragic-comedy.
