- Born to an aristocrat family, Hedayat studied at the French high school in Tehran and then went to Europe to study dentistry which he later abandoned. He wrote many short stories, novels, and some satirical materials. His most famous book is the novella "The Blind Owl". Hedayat committed suicide by gassing himself in Paris, and is buried at Pere Lachaise cemetery.
- His father and grandfather had both been counselors to LDS Church Presidents. While being employed at the Federal Land Office he was called to the Quorum Of The Twelve Apostles at age 33. Despite his fragile health and impaired eyesight he had a distinguished career as a church leader. He became the 8th president of the church on May 21, 1945. He organized the Church'es massive welfare assistance to Europe after World War II. He also championed scouting among Latter Day Saints. Through numerous other Civic and Church responsibilities, President Smith lived that portion of that personal creed that declared,"I would be a friend to the friendless and find joy in ministering to the needs of the poor". After 6 years as Church President he died due to complications from Lupus on his eighty-first birthday. He was buried in the Smith Family Plot in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Ivan Kahn was born on 8 December 1890 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He was an actor and writer, known for Star Dust (1940) and The Sands of Life (1914). He was married to Frances Guihan and Jessie Kahn. He died on 4 April 1951 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
