Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, John Joseph Parker was the son of Hazel H. Parker and John Parker Sr., the head of Oregon's J. J. Parker theater chain. Although he shot his feature film, Dementia (1955) in Los Angeles, it has its theatrical premiere at New York's 55th Street Playhouse. Parker was reportedly slated to direct a new feature title Panic the following spring. Parker died in Los Angeles on April 3, 1981 at the age of 54.- Joseph "Skipper" Davidson was the father of director Gordon Davidson. He acted for many years in the Yiddish Theater and on Broadway, before becoming the first professor of Theater at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. He served there for many years. That was where he got the nick-name "Skipper", from his students.
