Barrie Douglas Warden - Nov. 7, 1936 - Feb. 20, 2007 - Barrie Douglas Warden died in Sequim after a three year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old. He was born in Shepperton, England to Albert and Dorothy Warden. Barrie graduated from Twickenham Technical College in Electrical Aircraft Engineering. He worked for Vickers-Armstrong and British Aircraft before coming to Boeing in 1966 to help design the 747. He retired in 1990 as a much respected senior electrical manager having worked on most commercial and military airplane programs over his 32 year career. Barrie was an avid and knowledgeable history buff and car enthusiast. He never missed the auto show and enjoyed classic autos as much as new technology. Barrie had great joy in finding and surprising his wife, Berta, with her dream car a classic 1955 Thunderbird. Barrie, as a member of 'The Twenty Niners', helped to restore 'Fifi' the only flying B-29. Barrie and his wife, Berta retired to Sequim in 2003 where they restored a landmark 'barnhouse' into their retirement home. In addition to his wife, Berta, Barrie is survived by his sister, Ricky (Colin), daughter, Sharon, son, David (Tatia), Berta's sons, Steve (Mikel) and Bryce (Sara), grandchildren, Sam, Luke, Tyler, Danielle, Olivia, Madeline, Abigail and former spouse, Rosalie.
