Åsa Holmsen, born 1916 at Frösön, Jämtland, was a Swedish Television producer, scriptwriter and editor. Her career started at Sandrews Studios as a script girl, editor and later assistant director. In 1939 she married director/writer Egil Holmsen, with whom she had two children. The CEO of Radiotjänst, Per Martin Hamberg, recruited Åsa Holmsen to the creation of the Swedish National Radio and Television corporation in 1956, where she produced documentaries and social political programs with a distinctive female perspective.
