- Tapia won belts at featherweight, junior and world bantamweight. He held a record of 59 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws, with 30 wins by knockout. Tapia had many tattoos done around his body, and his tattoos are prominent when he is fighting. One of them says Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life), the nickname he has adopted over the last few years. He wrote an autobiography by that title. At age eight he witnessed the kidnapping of his own mother. She was tied up and taken away by a man. She was raped, and her body found next to a road a few days later. Tapia had problems dealing with that and started using drugs when he was a teenager. But he also started a career in boxing, and became an Olympic hopeful. While he was still addicted to drugs, Tapia built a record of 150 wins and 12 losses as an amateur. His opponents included Arthur Johnson, Richard Duran and Todd Foster during this period. His professional career began on March 28, 1988, when he beat Efren Chavez by a knockout in round four in Irvine, California. He won eight fights that year, five by knockout, of which four were in the first round. But his career took an enormous step backwards when he was found with drugs, and this time he was suspended from boxing for three years. He had to start over from scratch when he was finally able to return in 1994. On February 18 of 1995, Tapia was given a shot at WBO World Junior Bantamweight champion Jose Rafael Sosa. Tapia became a world champion in his own hometown by defeating Sosa on a twelve round decision. He retained the title with a knockout in eight rounds of Ricardo Vargas and a decision in twelve against former amateur nemesis Arthur Johnson. After two more wins, he gave Willy Salazar a title shot, knocking him out in nine rounds. In 1999, Tapia suffered his first loss, losing a twelve round decision and the WBA world title belt to Paulie Ayala in what Ring Magazine called its fight of the year. That year also, he tried to commit suicide with a drug overdose, and required hospitalization. Back quickly after that and his first defeat, he was given a chance at the WBO world title belt, and he became a two time World Bantamweight champion. In 2002, Tapia traveled to London, England, for his first professional fight abroad. There, he knocked out Eduardo Enrique Alvarez in the first round. Tapia came back on the night of October 4, 2003, defeating Carlos Contreras by ten round unanimous decision at Albuquerque. Tapia was arrested in Bullhead City, Arizona the night of January 10, 2003 for resisting arrest along with his cousin, who is wanted on charges in New Mexico. He was not sent to jail immediately, but now he faces new charges for resisting arrest. After his arrest, he returned home to Las Vegas, and there, he slipped onto the floor, crashing his head against the concrete and having to be hospitalized in critical condition. He was in stable condition at first, but he recuperated and was later released. On December 21 of that year, Tapia mistook a medicine that contained codeine, to which he is allergic, with Tylenol. He took the wrong medicine, and had to spend one night hospitalized as a result. Tapia's last fight was in 2011 at the Hard Rock Casino near Albuquerque. He was found dead in his home May 27, 2012 at age 45.

Holly Dunn was a female country vocalist and mainstay at country radio for several years in the mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s.
Her rise came on the back of the song "Daddy's Hands," a tribute to her father, a Church of Christ preacher, presenting him as a loving man who worked hard to provide for the family and guide his children. "Daddy's Hands" went on to earn Dunn two Grammy nominations and become a perennial Father's Day favorite. She had signed with MTM Records in 1985 and after a few minor hits broke through with "Daddy's Hands." Other hits followed, including her duet hit with Micahel Martin Murphey on "A Face in the Crowd," and her first solo top 5 hit "Love Someone Like Me," both in 1987.
When MTM Records closed in late 1988, Dunn's contract was bought by Warner Bros. Records, where she went on to co-write songs with her brother, Chris Waters Dunn, and scored two No. 1 hits: "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me" (1989) and "You Really Had Me Going" (1990). However, with the rise of pop-influenced country in the early 1990s, Dunn's hits became fewer and farther between, and after recording a gospel album in 2003, Dunn left music and turned to painting.
Dunn announced in early 2016 that she had ovarian cancer. On Nov. 14, 2016, she died in hospice care in Albuquerque, N.M.- David Cargo was born on 13 January 1929 in Dowagiac, Michigan, USA. - According to British JFK researcher and retired police detective, Ian Griggs, he extensively researched Jada, who was one of the strippers at Jack Ruby's Carousel Club in Dallas. Due to several marriages, her full name was Janet Mole Adams Bonney Cuffari Smallwood Conforto Washington, and Adams was actually her middle name. Her father was born in Manhattan and her mother was a native West Indian from Trinidad. After moving to Fresno, they separated in 1944 but the divorce was not until 1962. Jada became well-known in the New Orleans exotic dancer community when she began work at the Carousel Club in July 1963. She quickly became their highest paid performer but allegedly caused Ruby many problems by going too far with her act, prompting Ruby on occasion to turn the lights out on her. After too many arguments with Ruby, she quit the club during the first week of November in 1963. Dallas Police Dept documents show that she was involved in an accident at 10:45 am on 11/22/63, slightly striking a pedestrian. He denied needing a doctor, but Jada called a friend to take him to Parkland and be examined. She was there when JFK and Texas Governor John Connally were brought there later. Jada was interviewed by Paul Good of ABC on 11/24/63, telling Good that Ruby liked JFK but did not like Robert Kennedy due to the many mob investigations Kennedy instigated as his brother's Attorney General. She had no idea why Ruby killed Oswald. This interview was included in the Warren Commission Report on JFK. Over the years, Jada was married several times and had two children. She was living in San Francisco at the time of her death in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on May 9, 1980. She was riding her motorcycle when an empty school bus, driven by Donna Beeman, struck her motorcycle from behind and ran over it. Jada's son, Joseph Conforto, sued Beeman and her employer for negligence but the result is unknown. She was buried under the name "JADA" at Lake Lawn Park Metarie Cemetery in New Orleans.
