- On the 1st of January, 2000, the United States of America will return to the Panamanian government all the land surrounding the Panama Canal. This documentary at youngsters asks what will happen to all the installations built inside the US military forts in the Canal Zone.
- In a Dogon village, the storyteller Egnelou explains that each night many stories are told to make the people think, to give advices and ideas. The young interpret his stories, and reflect on different aspects of the daily life in the Dogon society: the relationship between husband and wife, respect for taboos, incest, the value of work, etc.

- After two years in jail, El Isleño returns to the island of La Fe, ruled by the dictator Francisco Gavilán. He arrives with a cinematograph and exhibits "Robin Hood" to the people. The next day the bridge that communicates La Fe to the mainland has been destroyed, and the people plan to overthrow Gavilán.

He is assisted by his photographer girlfriend María, and they are trapped in a web of torture, prostitution, corruption and power struggle.

- The town of Papayal is located in the Amazon jungle. It is ruled by violence, greed and vice. It has grown around mines where gold is extracted, and where mercury has severely destroyed the environment. Apart from the local bar and brothel, the settlers have nothing to do but work on the mines. Every once in a while a man called Fellini arrives and projects films. One day the mother of teenager Isabel and her lover steal the gold from miner El Gallego and flee from Papayal. The girl is forced to pay their debt, by working on the brothel. Isabel tries to escape, but she is caught by the police, and meets Cae, a young man who is bought by a trader to work in the gold mines. Back on Papayal, Isabel falls in love with Cae, who tells her that both her mother and her lover have been killed.
- Worker Juan Rivero goes to jail, and his wife Elena and daughter Sagrario are helped by Dr. Horacio Rueda, who falls in love with Elena. When Juan is released, the relationship ends, but Sagrario, now a charming young woman, plans to marry Dr. Rueda.

Part three 'Breaking the Silence' is dedicated to Fugard's admiration for Bertolt Brecht, and Oe's for Günter Grass. Choreographers Marin and Jones reflect on the influences of, respectively, Samuel Beckett and Marcel Proust, in part four 'Choreographers on Writers'. The last part, 'Artist and Visionairies' registers Anger's opinion of Jean Cocteau, Bo's admiration for Marcel Duchamp, Komar and Melamid's memories of Andy Warhol, and O'Connor's affectionate appreciation for Bob Marley.

- A 2018 compilation of Zora Neale Hurston's registers of activities in American black communities from the rural South, it possesses a highly anthropological value. Shot in 1928-29, the collection includes children's games, capers and dance, a baseball crowd, a baptism and portraits of a beautiful black young woman and a tall man with an axe. The images are enhanced by the score composed by Renée Clark Baker.
- In Mali, 800 kilometers northeast of Bamako, the Dogon tribe of Arou prepare the funeral of their last "hogon", or religious chief. Due to economic and religious conflicts, the funeral was in 1992, eight years after the death of the hogon. Six weeks later, they prepare his successor, Ogomale, son of the hogon, who is nominated and enthroned as the new hogon. For the rest of his life, he will have to live away from the tribe, in a sanctuary located on top of the Bandiagara cliffs.
