- James Bond has left active service. His peace is short-lived when Felix Leiter, an old friend from the CIA, turns up asking for help, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

- Barry Martin was a founder-member of CI5 with Cowley and trains Bodie and Doyle in unarmed combat, but he has turned 'rogue' for money, delivering a witness who was to be kept under wraps for an upcoming drugs trial to his killers. He shoots another man dead and wounds Cowley, who ends up in hospital. Having tumbled to his plan, the lads pursue Martin to an underground car park where he eludes them, leading to a final shoot-out.
- The Professionals get involved after Terkoff, a Russian K.G.B. agent, introduces young Sara Seaford "accidentally" to Sir Charles Milvain, a man tipped to be the next Prime Minister, with a view to gaining secret information from him and ultimately destroying him and his government.
- Australian villains Colin MacGruder and Ray Stackpole return to London and steal a bus, posing as its crew. They rob an art dealer travelling on the bus of a Goya painting, which they plan to sell to a buyer in Amsterdam. Regan tracks them down by leaning on their accomplice, the dealer's female assistant, leading to a river chase and a shoot-out, making it the end of the line for the boys from Down Under.
- Feeling a bit rudderless, Morpheus shadows his hard-working big sister, who offers him advice and encourages him to reconnect with an old acquaintance.
- After ditching her husband, Robin becomes prone to panic attacks - although not when confronting a murderer.

All the victims were blonde and the attacker smelt strongly of sweat. The team's investigations also uncover a trilogy of seemingly unrelated disasters which befell the factory at the time - the suicide of a female worker,who was not raped,the discovery of a severed finger in a chocolate bar and the prosecution of contract cleaner Alex Close for using illegal immigrants in his work force. As the connection between the three events emerges it seems likely that a murder also took place in the factory,though the rapist is still very much alive.
- Jack Bauer and President Heller endure the unthinkable to thwart the terror attacks of Margot Al-Harazi. Meanwhile, Jordan faces a life-or-death struggle and Kate takes drastic measures to track down Margot before it's too late.
- The next agent on the Soviet list, Tom Mallory, is a brutal man currently in prison for assault. Without his freedom, he can't perform his task and bring MI5 one step closer to thwarting Operation Glass - leaving Daddy with a terrible choice. Joe, haunted by events in his past, continues to struggle with his lover's killer's role in the plot.
- A blood-stained bust uncovered in a graveyard links to the 2008 murder of alternative health practitioner Jason Henway. Angela Morris blamed him for taking her late mother Gwen off chemotherapy but had an alibi. Jason's business partner Evan Langley stood to gain but points the team towards Jason's brother Douglas, a doctor practising cryopreservation, keeping the clinically dead alive through low temperatures, since he left the business having quarrelled with his brother on his wife's death. As well as solving the murder the team must also deal with Sasha's departure when she is offered an appetizing promotion.
- When Thomas sides against her findings on a controversial case, Nikki suspects foul play and takes steps to prove her theory.
