Carries one along irresistibly
deickemeyer30 January 2015
A story of the West with the spirit of the big, broad ranches in the scenes and the love of a liberal-hearted cowboy for a Western girl to add interest to the tale. The story is well told and there is a dash and go to the picture which can be imagined, but must be seen to be appreciated. The arrival of the apparently wealthy Eastern man, with the automobile, representing the lure of gold, followed by the coaxing of Annie to leave her Western lover and accept him, the arrangements for the false marriage, the sudden arrival of the Eastern man's wife, and all the attendant scenes and incidents add zest to the occasion. It is one of those stories which carry one along irresistibly and leave one wishing there were more of it, even though some of it is not altogether pleasant. - The Moving Picture World, December 25, 1909
