Lost Imp Film Starring Mary Pickford
PamelaShort29 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A typical story theme for early silent films , this lost Imp starred Mary Pickford. A surviving advertisement for The Toss Of A Coin is all I can offer the reader by way of synopsis.

The adventures of a tramp, down and out, with every man's hand against him, forms the theme of a drama recently produced by the IMP Company. The finale is pleasing, for the unfortunate not only finds a home, but wins the hand of a lovable young woman, the daughter of the farmer, who has befriended him.

Released for August 31st, 1911, a surviving film still shows a very young Mary Pickford in the role of Alice Barton , the farmer's daughter. Mary's sister Lottie Pickford is also listed in the cast. Directed by Thomas H. Ince, The Toss Of A Coin is another frustrating loss for fans of Mary Pickford's early films and those studying the rapid evolution of this popular medium of entertainment, silent films.
