Not Very Interesting Modern Western
lchadbou-326-2659218 March 2021
Under the opening credits we see stock footage, possibly taken from the major Universal release of two years before, All Quiet On the Western Front, of World War I which we will see soldiers returning from. The story based on Peter Kyne is a typical and not very interesting retread about cattle rustling, in fact it had been used when it was more fresh for the 1926 Hoot Gibson vehicle The Buckaroo Kid. There is also a romance between leading man Tom Mix and Ruth Hall, the daughter of a rich city banker played by William Farnum, with the banker firing Mix even though he was trying to help him, having him arrested and doing everything he can to prevent the cowboy from seeing his daughter again.
