He Waves His Hands And Hair

Hugh Herbert and Roscoe Ates are in a bar where all the men wear fezzes. They are trying to make time with cigarette girl Dorothy Granger. Their loud celery-crunching rouses the ire of Jerry Mandy, aka Sham Poo the magician.

It's a series of gags executed one after the other, at a crazy comedy pace, like a bus route. If this one doesn't make you laugh, there will be another along in a minute. It's the sort of absurd short comedy that director/writer Harry Sweet produced for RKO's short comedy unit. Alas, Sweet would die soon afer this came out, and RKO's short comedies would continue for another sixteen years, all engaging enough, but never again averaging quite as laughable.
