When the hearing ends, the reporters rush out to file their stories. One of them shouts into his telephone that the businessman who bribed Lionel Barrymore will be prosecuted. But the businessman is only told that he will be prosecuted after the reporters have left the room.
When asked, during a Senate hearing, "Is this your signature?" Lionel Barrymore nods, and the hearing continues. In a legal proceeding, there must be a verbal reply, so he should have been directed to say "Yes."
Addressing the Senate, Lionel Barrymore begins, "Gentlemen." Since a woman had been elected to the Senate (for the first time) the year before, he should have acknowledged her.
