- Ken Baxter foreman of the Rancho Vista dude ranch, falls for spoiled rich-girl guest Gloria Hanley, who, with the help of her likewise spoiled mother, gets Ken fired but he hangs on as a paying guest. Eric Simpson, a slick-dude fortune hunter has intentions of marrying Glora, to get next to her father's money, but Ken, knowing Eric is chummy with a town tootsie, Betty Johns, is suspicious of slick Eric's motives. Eric persuades rich-blonde and dumb Gloria to elope, but Ken rides in pursuit and swings Gloria onto his horse Tarzan. A storm comes up and Ken takes Gloria to a deserted shack for shelter. Furious, she tosses Ken's guns into the fire. While the guns are roasting outlaw LaCrosse and a couple of his henchies show up and demand shelter. The unarmed Ken dast not refuse but he asks them not to molest his "wife" who is mentally ill. Gloria lives up to Ken's description by slipping one of the men a note saying that her father would pay them a huge reward for her return. Figuring they can up the ante on her, they tie up Ken and take Gloria, planning to hold her for ransom. Ken, struggling to free himself, manages to set the cabin on fire but he whistles for Tarzan who races to the cabin, knocks down the door and frees Ken. The unhappy Ken then sets off in pursuit of LaCrosse with intent of dealing out some code-of-the-west retribution.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
