Re-titled "It Happened in New Orleans," this film received its earliest documented telecasts in New York City Monday 21 July 1947 on WNBT (Channel 4) and in Washington DC Sunday 25 April 1948 on WNBW (Channel 4. It first aired In Chicago Saturday 18 February 1950 on WNBQ (Channel 5) and in Los Angeles Tuesday 21 February 1950 on KTLA (Channel 5).
Al Capone, in a January 1937 letter to his son from Alcatraz Prison wrote that he had recently seen the movie "Rainbow On the River" starring Bobby Breen and that when he comes home he will play the song "Rainbow On the River" for him (Capone had learned to play banjo and the mandola, an instrument similar to the mandolin).
