- Dr. Allan Meighan: [Woolcott enters the room] How'd it go, Woolcott?
- Tony Woolcott: [annoyed] Ohh, the kid didn't come out of the anesthetic.
- [Dr. Barili and Claire glare at him]
- Tony Woolcott: But was *that* an operation.
- [to Allan and Dr. Barili]
- Tony Woolcott: Boys, it would've been an education to both of you. No kidding, tonight I was terrific.
- [pours drink from a bottle from his medical bag, and hears no comments]
- Tony Woolcott: What's the matter? Don't you think I should've operated?
- [no one replies]
- Tony Woolcott: Aw, you guys haven't any nerve.
- [drinks the liquor]
- Mrs. Claire Donahue: [to Woolcott] Do that again and I'll report you.
- Dr. Allan Meighan: [sternly] What did he do?
- Tony Woolcott: I was just tickling her, that's all.
- Dr. Allan Meighan: You keep your hands off the nurses or you'll be fired.
- Tony Woolcott: Jealous?
- [walks away]
- Tony Woolcott: [Tony and Patricia dancing at Patricia's birthday party, at which Allan hasn't arrived yet] If I were married to a girl like you, all the operations in the world wouldn't keep me away.
- Patricia Sloan: Wouldn't they?
- Tony Woolcott: No. Not even the pretty nurses in the hospital.
- Patricia Sloan: Tony - you're really quite a filthy creature, aren't you?
- Tony Woolcott: I try my hardest.
- Patricia Sloan: You're trying in your delicate, tactful manner to bring up the subject of Mrs. Donahue,
- [pats Tony's arm]
- Patricia Sloan: but she's married.
- Tony Woolcott: So are you.
