The British are being viewed in a bad light and you know what Hitler would be doing against London in 39 and 40,killing such pop singer ,like Al Bowley, .Scotland was controlled by the British a long time,so, the Scottish are portrayed as the victims in this film.Then I might be wrong and it was Entertainment propaganda and Willy and Lillian were the propaganda.They were the star in the film,whether they were still married or not in real life.For years are heard the song, on you tube,I'll dance with you into the heavens and China man sang by both stars of the film,thinking it was part of the movie.Wrong! two songs based on the back ground music,of the film were written and recorded by the two stars to promote the film.Back then in Germany and Austria songs would be written based on the movie that was produced ,but never used it in the films,just only to promote them instead.Imagine when stupid German film audience saw the movie and were disappointing that it was not a musical comedy.I was,today,now.After looking at the film realized that the songs would have thrown the movie off .Gerbels was the unnamed producer of all German films until the Nazi's fell.Hollywood was producing screwball romantic comedy's,like the technicolor Nothing Sacred or The Irene Dunne Comedy ," The Awful truth," well Gerbels wanted to compete with that by using Lillian Harvey and Villy Fritsch as the stars for the Nazi Cinema for their brand of Romantic comedy.This was the second one. .The first one was the take off of it happen one night ,Happy children. Although both Lilly And Villy did other films earlier as a team.this was their second screwball comedy.Will plays a jerk from Scotland who ,like an idiot,invest in a scheme created by greedy British magnate played by Alfred Abel and lost all his pennies.This sounds like the schemes that one magnate had done before he became president.Now Villy want revenge.As Lillian with Alfred in the breakfast scene, when Lillian finds out in the news paper she reads that Villy is going to slap her father silly ,7 times, to get back at Al for losing his pennies,Villy's. You see this does look like anti British propaganda.Alfred playing a greedy stock speculator.Well after the first slap,from Villy on a motor cycle, his associate,played German character actor who was wearing a wig that has an odd scull shape,oh yes Ernst Legal and I think Lillian Harvey's fiance or Alfred's associate making fun of an Earl,played by Erich Fiedler,wants to protect her father from the other slaps by hiring guards.Do you think that this films Villy's character indirectly might have been Hitler or pure Germans and Alfred character might have been symbol of the Jews that Hitler was paranoid against? hard to tell. After bieng slapped in Alfred building his daughter steps protection that the misses a Rugby game ,British football,Stubbornly he goes to the game and hides on the Scottish fans side so may be he ,Villy, won't show up again and slaps him. In this case Villy has what I believe to be a body guard to prevent Alfred from hitting him,but, the Earl of Wigglebottom tries to slap Villy at the Scottish side of the bleachers and ends up being hit by Villy's body guard.Lillian pretends to an admirer ,not revealing the fact that she's Alfred's daughter ,to discourage the him from slapping her father.She even hires an impersonator ,played by Otz Tollen,in an attempted to hit the wrong man.That fails now It's decided to lock her dad and Ernst in the bank safe until she can try to stop Villy. Villy invites her to his country for a sleigh ride and for supper.They make fun of plumb putting and goose in this film. She slowly stars to fall for Villy loosing interest in Wigglebottom, but, she pretends to hate him and dupes him into going to Gretna Green Marriage licensing combo blakc smith.There's suppose to be something funny about this when they advertised as offering run a away marriages .The trick is that when she reveals who she is,the Idea was the fact that he would not want to marry her.Why didn't Lillian Harvey's lover Paul Martin had it where both Villy and her would slap each other that would have gotten more laughs.Villey already knew what she was .Alfred comes down and tries to stop it ,but ,she still in love with Villy. Oskar Sima plays the reporter that gets involved with Villy and his seven slaps to Alfred. German comedy,from a dark time,that did not use neither songs that was recorded to promote the film,although it was uses in the back ground music as Villy and Lilly are dancing,I'll dance with you to the heavens.01/07/20 Update 01/13/20 .New evidence doesn't show that Paul Martin and Lillian Harvey ever had an affair.
