Lars-Erik Barring : [Anna enters Lars' room. Nearly trips, then steps, over toys on floor. Snowball hits her shoulder. Lars sliding on snow stops at open window] I slipped.
Anna Holm : You certainly did.
[Lars groans as she pulls him into room through window then closing it]
Anna Holm : Take off those wet boots.
Lars-Erik Barring : Who are you?
Anna Holm : Your new governess. You want to catch cold on my first night?
Lars-Erik Barring : [Stubbornly] Yes!
Anna Holm : [Drops Lars into chair, kneels down, now face-to-face] You're a mean one, aren't you?
Lars-Erik Barring : Yes!
Anna Holm : [Snatches off cap] Well, so am I.
[Lars grins broadly at her now]
Anna Holm : What are you smiling at?
Lars-Erik Barring : [Looking sideways at Anna] You couldn't be mean...
[Now face on, leaning into her]
Lars-Erik Barring : You're too pretty.

Anna Holm : You find what?
Dr. Gustaf Segert : Perhaps you could tell me?
Anna Holm : Oh, no; you're the expert. Turn on your lights.
Dr. Gustaf Segert : No, unfortunately for humanity, the light hasn't been invented yet that could look into that interesting heart of yours.

Torsten Barring : Do you like music? Symphonies, concertos?
Anna Holm : Some symphonies, most concertos.
