To "show" him she takes a friend's advice, removes her glasses, and puts on a designer gown. Naturally, she becomes gorgeous. - Katherine Hilliard (Maureen O'Hara), dean of a classical music school takes a sleeper-train to New York City to hire a symphony conductor. On the trail she meets Basrfry Clayton (Harry James), a dance band leader who tells her she is a tad bit dowdy. She changes her image and becomes glorious, which causes Barry and Jimmy Hale (Dick Haymes), the band crooner, to both fall in love with her. Her association with dance music causes her to loose her job at the snobby school, but the band and the crooner give a concert at the school and prove the musical value of swing music.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
