Wrecks of the war find each other
clanciai26 October 2021
This is a rustic drama out in the country, where a stranger arrives at the village, who has lost everything in the war, and all he knows is to draw and paint. He is appreciated for his art, but he refuses to partake in the general sport of the village, which is to go hunting. He lost his best friend in the war, and therefore will not touch a rifle. His mission in the village is to look up the sweetheart of his lost friend, and she has a small daughter with the patron of the property, who keeps her concealed housed by one of his faithful servants, who unfortunately desires her, which leads to complications. There is a great hunting scene towards the end, they start before sunrise and then spend the day shooting all kinds of fowl, while Stefano, our alien friend, is there only to gather the ducks. Like in all shooting parties on film, there are accidents and fatal mistakes and a settlement. Only Stefano is smiling in the film, it's the artist's smile of kind observation of his human objects, while all the others are more or less dead serious. It's based on a novel, which is obvious from the cinematography, the film is there to tell a story of a relationship drama, it's almost a melodrama, but the music is terrific all the way. The main theme is the song "Anima in cuore" which could make anyone's heart melt.
