Sex & Nudity

  • A few women in a tavern-type restaurant suggestively flirt with the main character. A man uses the phrase "tramp" in speaking about the other man's ex wife and daughter; for his faux-pas, the man speaking is punched in the mouth, knocking him through a glass door.
  • While slightly drunk, a man aggressively kisses a woman as she resists.

Violence & Gore

  • A few fist fights. Several American football games are seen, which is a contact sport.
  • A man is punched in the face by another man after he makes some rude comments about some women they both are familiar with.

Profanity

  • None; a few characters advise others to watch their language because a 12-year-old girl is present. The term "tramp" is used in a derogatory way regarding women.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • An intoxicated man in a bar is shown giving alcohol to a dog.
  • There are scenes of drinking and smoking throughout the movie. One character appears to be recovering from a hangover while his young daughter is present, and is somewhat drunk in a later scene. Characters offer each other cigarettes in different scenes. One woman orders a cocktail as her husband remarks on her apparent fondness for them.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A young girl accompanies her father, who works as a bookie, to a pool hall where she helps him gamble with other patrons.
  • Much of the plot revolves around a custody battle between a divorced couple over their 12-year-old daughter; the mother - who was caught having an affair while they were married - is shown to be completely indifferent to her daughter or her well-being, but seeking custody only to punish her ex-husband.
