Disappointing movie, Giacomo Rondinella at the time of this movie was the number one singer and movie attraction in Italy. I believe ten movies in one year is a record still to be broken by anyone, I don't understand for the life of me how he could ever be convinced to take on such a small and demeaning role in this movie, as bad a role as he took on here as long as he was on singing and carrying on with laura (Virna Lisi)the movie was alive, when both of them die the movie dies. They were a phenomenal combination in other movies they made together, in this one they were OK as long as they were in it. They were just in the wrong movie. Wrong casting big time, but also the movie itself is a dud, a boat race climaxing a drama?, as if winning the race would fix all the bad stuff! It's not a drama, not a comedy, not a musical, just a big mess and a dud! Bought this movie which is very rare by now because of Rondinella and Lisi but it turns out to be a dud anyway. By the way, in the IMDb credits there is an error, laura played by Virna Lisi is Marco's sister, not his daughter.
