Hertha Fieler, the wife of Heinz Ruhmann has the lead again. She plays a child doctor at a Heimat village at a clinic and one of her patient is a young girl who is the youngest daughter of Annie Rosar.She has a boy friend who's an architect played by Willy Fritz. One day he invites her for a weekend at his big place in the Heimat village in which nothing really compelling happens up there except a little boy, brother of the man Hertha would fall for, cart with pottery keeps falling down.Hans Moser is the mayor. Annie Rosar plays an old flame who now runs a little restaurant and store. They constantly have fights about something then make up.Hans Moser and Annie Rosar and some of the cast survivors of the Hitlercoust. Back in 43 they played in the comedy black and white.Well as soon as they get to his big place. his servant , who is Annie's older daughter is surprised that the doctor is a woman, Altogether Hertha is caught off guard when he insist that they be engaged, she gets mad at him and decides to walk back home. She meets this wood cutter name Michael and discovers from him that it is a long way home, He takes her to the inn and restaurant owned by Mosar.She tries to pay him but he turns it down. she decides to stay the weekend.She meets Michael again becoming friendly, She discovers he is an ambitious painter. Eva is starting to get jealous. As Hertha admiring the mountain scenery she see's Will hunting and acts very mad with her. The bus shows up and she leaves.later on another weekend she shows up in her Volkes wagon. she meet Annie's younger daughter up the road and rides with her. But nobody's around cause everybody is at their annual Hiemat festival.There's a nature beauty pageant with Moser as the emcee. Michael,played Gerhard Reidmann,meets her again and they hang around, Hans challenges Annie to a game of bowling, a tradition in German cinema. She starts to win and he gets mad about it.but surprises her and wins. The next day Michael is painting a portrait picture for her. some times later she's walking some one tells her about Michael having an accident. She runs to the log campers only to discover that it was another Michael and he was barely harmed. Michael ends up kissing her. Eva is up set now, Hans and the citizens are planning their annual Heimat pageant,Mosar tries to show the citizens how the history of their little village is portrayed. Anne give s him a difficult time. Well Michael uses the excuse how a dealer wants to look at his painting to see Hertha again.This upsets Eva more. Franz Shafhietlin loves his painting and buys it. It's storming up at Heimat land . Annie tries to call up Michael but electricity goes out. an electric storm starts a fire at his house. so Eva rescues the paintings. Hertha explain that what was between her and him they should forget it. His painting get in the museum, Well he goes back into to participate in the middle ages Heimat pageantry as the lead with Eva , earlier Willy surprises Hertha that he had his mansion converted to a children's clinic and they make up.
