  • During the opening sequence, a man driving down the road has a wreck and dark liquid (blood) is sprayed onto his face.
  • While Mike and Carol are searching the cave for her father, they find two skeletons.
  • When the posse is searching the cave, they see a bat, and the sheriff shoots it dead.
  • Carol finds her dead father's body, it is shrunken from loss of fluids.
  • When the posse is attacked by the spider, one of them is struck by a spider leg, and he dies. His bloodied corpse is seen being pulled off the spider web.
  • While the spider is on display in the school, it has a "knee jerk" reaction and knocks a teacher down. No one is harmed.
  • When the spider escapes and ravages the city, you see the destruction, and a baby with "blood" on its face sitting in the street alone.
  • Joe is playing with a normal spider. The sheriff knocks it off the desk and stomps on it (unseen).

  • Kingman brings a dead deputy into the sheriff office, and lays it on the desk. It is drained of all fluids.
  • The spider attacks Kingman's home trying to get to his wife and baby. The woman screams and the baby starts crying. When she tries to escape, a fake spider leg blocks her way.
  • Mike and Joe are trapped on a ledge in the cave and the spider is crawling down the wall to get them
  • While trying to stay out of the spider's reach in the cave, Mike and Carol get trapped on a narrow ledge.
  • If you're an arachniphobe, this film probably isn't for you.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Bert I. Gordon used a real spider and a miniature set for most of the creature's scenes. Most of the work is better than usual, but, still pretty fake. There are a couple of moments when the spider is superimposed into the picture and you can see holes in its body. Better than most Bert I. Gordon special effects.
