  Guilietta Cameron : Because I don't believe in Santa Claus. Or, love!

  Nick Stratton : Oh, I tried that. Believe me.

• Guilietta Cameron : I don't want to be loved. Or, be in love. Or, have any trouble. That's what love is to me: trouble.

  Nick Stratton : Okay, okay.

  Guilietta Cameron : Leave me alone.

  Nick Stratton : We won't talk about love. Never. Love is trouble. Down with love, Julie.

• Guilietta Cameron : Girls like me don't fall in love. Love doesn't mean anything to us. If it did, how could we be what we are then? There isn't anything beautiful about love. You learn that right away. A man is just an animal - with a silly look on his face.

  Guilietta Cameron : What bothers you so much? The idea that I've known men before you? Is that it? Or is the idea of your father being one of them? What are you complaining about? I never asked you for anything. I never took anything from you. I only gave to you. You can tell everybody and laugh when you say it, for me it was free. That will make you feel like a man. A high priced woman like that and it cost you nothing. Think of the laugh you will get out of it.

  Nick Stratton : I want to be like the others. I want to have a hard time remembering your name.

  [throws money at Julie] 

• Nick Stratton : How many Julie? Did you ever count?

  Guilietta Cameron : Why count waves in the ocean?

• Guilietta Cameron : Alright, you're here. What will it be? A threat or a bribe?

• Guilietta Cameron : I know a lot about guilt. Men in the dark, telling all their secrets, pretending this moment is what they've been searching for all their lives. And the next day you see them somewhere, in a restaurant maybe or a bar someplace. And then you see it in their face - that little flash of guilt. Not knowing whether to say hello or pretend they didn't see you at all. Oh, yes. I know all about that.
