- In pan & scan versions of this film, there is an extra scene as Bill & Susan depart England for France. They are seen on the small motorboat and Susan asks Bill "Where are we going?". Bill answers "We're going to that meeting in Paris, if we can make it". They then hear an explosion behind them, and we see that the ship they had just left from has exploded. We then see their small boat heading out to sea past an estuary lighthouse. This scene is missing from the letterbox versions.
- There are two edits made to the 1985 Goodtimes Home Video VHS release. The first is Bernard Gordon's writing credit has been inserted into the opening titles. This was achieved by repeating some footage from the titles without text and slowing it down, superimposing the new credit. A piece of the music has been repeated at this point to avoid a jarring cut. The 2nd is rather odd and seems to possibly be a mistake. After the line "One light wind and they're everywhere," it cuts to a shot of triffids growing out of the ground. The line has been trimmed to "One light wind and they're everyw-" before the shot of the triffids.
- On some video versions, Bernard Gordon's name has been inserted into the writing credits.
