Totò does an excellent job as a buffoon first trying to get work in an employment agency and then causing trouble working in a beauty parlor.
Mario Castellani plays the owner of the beauty parlor. I always enjoy seeing him in Totò's movies, but in this film I finally realized what an absolutely masterful straight man he is, and why he appeared in so many of Totò's films.
This is a farce made for TV, essentially sketch comedy, and the characters are not trying to be believable, only fun and silly, in the same vein as The Jack Benny Show or Carol Burnett.
