Have you ever wondered why the gambling business has never stopped filmmakers from using casinos in their films, although they are frequently associated with criminal activity? It is because no marketing compares to that of the entertainment industry. Most companies have invested in boosting their products because the actors generate traffic to their respective industries. The players in the movies, as in real life, are given a non-sticky bonus to entice them into the various casinos.
Iconic characters, such as celebrities, have a tremendous fan base, and their ardent admirers would do anything to live like them. The film business contributes to global trend-setting. Casinos are not successful or popular because of the gaming experience they provide. Even with the negative image projected by the movies by tying the industry to illicit activities, the movie industry has played a vital role by merely portraying the activities in a casino in various casino movies.

If we weren't already losing our collective s*** over Rian Johnson's upcoming Natasha Lyonne starring mystery series "Poker Face" for Peacock, the latest casting announcement is surely going to put us all over the edge of excitement. In 1952, the second season of CBS sitcom I Love Lucy set viewing records that, 70 years later, have yet to be beaten. The star was Lucille Ball, a lovable klutz from New York, and her husband Ricky was played by her real-life spouse—Cuban refugee Desi Arnaz. Together they founded Desilu Productions, soon to be the No. 1 independent TV company in America. In 1957, however, a scandal surfaced that threatened to tear it all down: Lucy was a registered Communist. Or was she? That fraught time is brought to life by Aaron Sorkin in his Amazon Studios release Being the Ricardos, starring Nicole Kidman as Lucy and Javier Bardem as Desi. Damon Wise sits down with all three to discuss the forgotten legacy of a most unlikely power couple.

There’s wrong, there’s really wrong, there’s Cats the motion picture wrong, there’s wanting to release Cats the Butthole Cut wrong. And then there’s the “Pilot” episode of Bluff City Law.
You may not remember Bluff City Law, as the legal drama only aired on NBC in the fall of 2019 for all of 10 weeks. It starred Jimmy Smits as Elijah Strait, the head of a plaintiff’s law firm in Memphis, Tennessee. It also starred Caitlin McGee as Elijah’s estranged daughter Sydney. Why were they estranged? Doesn’t matter. Seriously, if people cared why they were estranged, the show would have lasted more than 10 episodes.
What is important is that Elijah and Sydney teamed up to try a lawsuit on behalf of Edward Soriano, a public school groundskeeper who was suing giant chemical consortium Amerifarm for covering up the fact that their weed killer Greencoat caused his cancer.

Kotto also appeared in "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1968) and was a regular presence in guest star roles on top TV series such as "Gunsmoke", "Daniel Boone", "Night Gallery", "The Big Valley", "Hawaii Five-0", "Mannix" and "The High Chapparal". He was nominated for an Emmy award for his performance as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in the 1976 TV production of "Raid on Entebbe". Mike Sexton, a member of the Poker Hall of Fame who was a longtime TV commentator for World Poker Tour events, died Sunday at age 72.
Linda Johnson, a fellow Poker Hall of Fame member who had been authorized to speak on his behalf, disclosed the news on Twitter. Last week, she said that Sexton had entered hospice care last month after his prostate cancer had spread to other organs.
Sexton earned $6.7 million in live tournament earnings, according to the Hendon Mob Poker Database. His honors included a World Series of Poker bracelet in 1989 and a Wpt event in Montreal in 2016.
But he is perhaps best remembered as the color commentator for televised Wpt events from its inception in 2003 to 2017, where he helped popularize the game and explain it to Americans previously unfamiliar with the strategies and gamesmanship of Texas Hold’em.

Movies have been an essential aspect of our culture since their inception. There are often instances where they influence public options. From the early era of cinema movies on gamblers and casinos, lifestyle has been quintessential for the audience as well as the film industry.
Many of them accurately represent everything that revolves around the gambling world, such as that feeling to win, urge to keep playing in the hopes of hitting the big jackpot, despair and thrill, and so on.
Before Hollywood started making movies about casinos, there was a widespread misconception that it is a leisurely activity that is exclusively for the rich. However, with the dawn of the genre for casino-related movies, audiences’ mindset changed towards gambling.
