German Adventure Flick with Giorgio ARDISSON and Sieghardt RUPP
ZeddaZogenau17 January 2024
This German-Italian co-production by RAPID Film rides on the wave of the GERMAN ADVENTURE FLICKS, but is incredibly exciting and quite differentiated.

Two mining engineers friends (Giorgio ARDISSON / Sieghardt RUPP) in Beirut get caught up in the machinations of a drug lord (Luigi PISTILLI), who wants to use them as drug couriers on the Beirut-Tetuan route. He doesn't shy away from kidnapping the son of one of the two men. A race against time begins...

Giorgio ARDISSON (1931-2014) and Sieghardt RUPP (1931-2015) impress in parade roles tailored to them. Also interesting is the participation of Hamburger Katrin SCHAAKE (*1931), who would later make a few appearances in FASSBINDER films.

Not only worth seeing for fans of the GERMAN ADVENTURE FLICKS!

Long-winded and tedious

Warning: Spoilers
ADVENTURE IN MOROCCO is a virtually unknown Italian/West German thriller that was shot in Morocco by a couple of local - and sadly inexperienced - directors. Bizarrely, it was written in part by two well-known genre directors, Alberto Cavallone and Fernando Di Leo. The story is about an ordinary guy whose lad is kidnapped by drug smugglers, who hold the boy as hostage in order to force his father to help them in their nefarious schemes. The hero of the hour is the hard-working George Ardisson, one of those actors who turned up in just about every genre over the years. Sadly, this is a long-winded and tedious affair, throwing in a few shoot-outs here and there but largely feeling sluggish and devoid of the necessary suspense needed for the thriller genre to work.
