As dream stalker Freddy Krueger in eight A Nightmare on Elm Street feature films and two seasons of Freddy’s Nightmares, Robert Englund expertly exploited people’s fears before adding yet another Elm Street notch to his kill list. But as Dr. Andover in Robert Hall’s 2009 Fear Clinic web series, Englund played a character with benevolent traits opposite of Krueger’s malevolent methods. Dr. Andover helped patients conquer their fears by having them face their personalized horrors in hallucinatory, dream-like states induced by his innovative Fear Chamber.
Englund recently reteamed with co-writer/director Hall to reprise his role as the good doctor in the Fear Clinic feature film, now available on home media from Anchor Bay, and we caught up with the legendary actor to discuss how Dr. Andover has changed since we last saw him in the web series, the David Cronenberg-esque elements of Fear Clinic, what...

We have a trio of trailers that includes a tease of the second half of The Walking Dead Season 5, a look at Dying Light‘s multiplayer mode where you can “Be The Zombie,” and a return to the Fear Clinic:
“After the tragic events of the mid-season finale – as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC – Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day-to-day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope. Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp onto what little they have left.
Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur. Could there be anything at this point that brings them back to life?...

Films about mad artists have always been a personal favorite of mine. A basic list would include Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933) , House of Horrors (1946) starring the late great Rondo Hatton, House of Wax (1953), Bucket of Blood (1959), and the recent hilarious horror comedy Murder Party (2007). Have fun making up your own list. To it, make sure to add Blood Bath (1966). This weird little number was produced, written and directed by none other than the late ?great? Jack Hill. Hill made schlock but I'll wager you have fond memories of a few of his titles, especially if you are over 40. The Wasp Woman (1960), The Terror (1963), Spider Baby (1968), The Snake People (1971), The Fear Chamber (1971)...

I'm really starting to wonder about Amazon's system for categorizing movies. Left out of their "horror" DVD offerings for week of April 27th were The Descent Part 2, Mega Piranha, and the newest Tales from the Darkside collection (Season 3). Huh? In any event, they are indeed being released on home video this week, along with a big batch of flicks most of us around the Dread Central offices are not too familiar with.
Including in the "batch" mentioned above are a couple of serial killer flicks -- The Fear Chamber and Passed the Door of Darkness -- as well as the intriguing sounding Sympathy, which takes place entirely in a motel room with only three actors. We also get a couple of documentaries and part of a long-running reality TV show: Legend of the Witches, History's Mysteries: Fear Files - Zombies, and "Ghost Hunters": Season Five, Part Two.
