The story was very loosely inspired by the 1962 Bernard Cribbins novelty song 'Hole in the Ground'.
Filmed in 1969 but not released theatrically until 1971. This was because it was independently made and none of the major distributors picked it up as (due to it being just 30 mins long), they didn't know what to do with it. Monarch Films eventually picked it up and it was used as a short feature to accompany the Hammer film 'Countess Dracula' (1971).
Rather peculiarly, 'A Hole Lot of Trouble' was filmed in 1969 but released in 1971. This can also be seen when the film starts as it says "Chairene Productions Ltd. 1969".
Final film of Georgina Simpson.
