During the French-Indian War, Cora and Alice Munro, with Major Heyward, intend to join their father at Fort William Henry, but their Indian guide may not be as trustworthy as he seems.
Hawkeye and the Mohicans lead the Munro party to temporary shelter, but Magua and his Hurons are hot in pursuit and the shelter may become a death-trap.
After capturing Major Heyward, the Munro daughters and David Gamut, Magua makes his intentions known to Cora and tells her of the price her father must pay.
Cora and Alice are at last reunited with their father, but Fort William Henry is under siege by the French, Hawkeye and the Mohicans have been captured by the Hurons and help for either may not arrive in time.
Fort William is now under siege, from the French, and Colonel Munro has no choice but to surrender. His two daughters go against wishes to look after the sick. As the British prepare to leave Magua leads the dance of war.
Magua and his men attack the British leaving Fort William with only a handful escaping. Magua takes the Colonel's daughters to the Canada's. Uncas is sent to track them down but discovers he has split the girls and walks into a trap.
Hawkeye and Chingachgook thwart Magua, at the camp, by releasing his captives. Haweye and Heywood are forced challenge Magua and his lies, to the Delaware Chief, and stop him taking Cora with him. Only Uncas can step forward.
