Creepy Italian comedy
Leofwine_draca24 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This Italian comedy is just plain weird. It's about a creepy mother's boy of a grown man who spends his time lusting after women; given his looks it's no surprise he's unlucky in love. His life is dominated by his crazy old mother who is equally crazy. This guy's adventures involve him being a Peeping Tom as well as the hiring of a young woman to "aid" him, so there are some perverse sexual moments, but overall it's quite tame and overlong for the most part.

a sad comedy worth watching
ctg200512 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is a sad little comedy really worth watching. I'm much afraid that it will never be released on DVD and it's never been shown on television for many many years. Anyway, the story of count Alfredo AKA Didino (little Alfred) and his bloodsucker mother countess Mafalda has a good way to satirize the mother-son relationship in Italy. The main characters are played by Paolo Villaggio and Lila Kedrova, who are perfectly cast to display the grown man who in fact is still a little boy and the domineering matron. One of the most hilarious scenes is when during a social gathering at the countess home, we can see the most prominent socialites of the small town where Alfredo and Mafalda live, even the bishop, having tea and cake, count Didino enter the parlor completely naked, wearing a helmet and saying out loud "Madri, go home!". As I said at the beginning, this comedy is a sad one and if you are lucky enough to catch this feature, you'll be very surprised by the twisted ending.

Excellent!

But not for everyone, you have to love Lila Kedrova and Paolo Villaggio, you have to know them well, to have seen them in other movies. I know them both well, I saw them in almost all their other films, they are both two dear actors, whom I love very much. For me they are Bubulina and Fantozzi, who knows, knows what I'm saying. Eleonora Giorgi is super delicious in the role of Angela, the limping maid who looks supersexy. And Orchidea De Santis is sexy and talented in the role of Jolanda. Luciano Salce, great director, has also worked with Paolo Villaggio in a few other comedy films. Lila Kedrova, Eleonora Giorgi and Luciano Salce are all three born in the sign of Libra.
