Some film experiences are so dreadful that even decades later, they still make me angry.
About 24 years ago i saw this movie at the local art-house cinema. The advertising of the film prominently stated that the film featured music by Pink Floyd, and since at the time (1981) The Wall was very popular, i thought that, maybe, it will be a cool movie. Sad mistake. The film was a lousy and convoluted adaptation of Dante Alighieri's "Commedia" but in a non-linear form that made the film almost incomprehensible, even for those that have read the book.
There's nothing wrong "per Se" in adapting a classic work to a contemporary setting, but when the original material gets lost from the very beginning, when the narrative it's totally convoluted, when there's no reason for whatever is happening on the screen, then, there is no reason to see this film. Maybe if you're in drugs, but even getting really high, it will be impossible to find a single redeeming quality.
Beware Pink Floyd completists: this film DOES NOT INCLUDE PINK FLOYD MUSIC. There's some acoustic guitar playing in the very end, but it's not longer than one minute. That's all.
