The film was originally intended to run 90 minutes.
Kim McKenzie and Scott Hicks did the pre-production on the film, working 80 hour weeks for $35 which was $1 less than the unemployment benefit at the time.
Kim McKenzie shot all the wildlife, natural photography and still photographs in the film.
One of the most difficult shots to film was filming Peregrine Birds who dive down vertically at 185 miles per hour towards the rolling camera.
