This was meant to be the second in a trilogy with the planned third film being "Not Now Prime Minister". Because this one failed at the box office, the third film never happened.
This is essentially an adaptation of Ray Cooney's 1964 play "Chase Me Comrade" which was about the defection of Russian ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev.
Carol Hawkins turned down the opportunity to appear in Carry on England (1976) due to the excessive nudity. Ironically, she exposes her breasts two minutes into this film.
