Wanda’s journey in the MCU has been complex. She began as a villain, transitioned into a hero, faced tragedy, experienced loss, briefly returned to villainy, and then reclaimed a heroic mantle by destroying the Darkhold and seemingly sacrificing herself.
The conclusion of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ left her fate uncertain. Official statements haven’t clarified whether Wanda is still alive within the MCU.
Many fans, myself included, think that mere collapsing debris wouldn’t pose a significant threat to a Nexus being with such vast Multiversal potential. After all, we’ve seen Wanda endure far worse, so her return seems likely. Lately, there have been rumors suggesting she might get her own standalone movie. Even if that doesn’t materialize, there are several projects where her return would make perfect sense.

Wanda was never just a character in the MCU. She started out a villain, became a hero, became a hero with a tragic backstory, lost everything, and circled back to being a villain until eventually becoming sort of a hero again by destroying Darkhold and supposedly taking her own life.
Now even the ending of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was pretty open-ended, and the official statements on the matter really did nothing to answer the question – is Wanda still alive within the MCU?
Most fans, including me, believe that collapsing debris can’t really do much against Nexus being with such a Multiversal potential, after all, we’ve seen Wanda tanking far worse, so she will likely return. Recently, there’s been a few rumors circling that she is going to get her own standalone movie, even if that doesn’t happen, there are a few projects in which she could return,...

For his first screen project since Doctor Who, Chris Chibnall is adapting Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery for Netflix. More here.
Since he left behind the showrunner chair on Doctor Who, Chris Chibnall has done a theatre production, but not committed to another screen project. Well, until now. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Chibnall was steering an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel The Seven Dials Mystery, and a bit more on that has now come to light.
Chris Chibnall has written the script for the production, which is being backed by Netflix. Chris Sweeney is directing, and the plan is to get the show in front of the cameras this summer. The story is set in a stately home, so it’s a fair bet that this is going to shoot in a similar property in the British countryside.

‘WandaVision,’ a popular Marvel series about Wanda Maximoff dealing with her loss, got a lot of love for its unique storytelling and digging into the characters’ feelings. It did so well that there are two new shows spinning off from it: ‘Agatha,’ coming to Disney+ soon, and ‘Vision Quest,’ which doesn’t have a release date yet.
Last year, the WGA Directory said ‘Vision Quest’ was expected to come out in the 2024-2025 TV season. Many fans were eager for it, but the SAG-AFTRA strike messed up a bunch of projects, and some got axed. Now, MyTimeToShineHello, a notable leaker and scooper, teased White Vision’s next appearance which we can only assume is ‘Vision Quest.’ The news are not good, if the rumors are true the show won’t see the light of day until 2026.

‘WandaVision,’ a hit Marvel series centering on Wanda Maximoff and the aftermath of her loss, was praised for its creative approach to storytelling and exploration of the character’s personalities and emotions. The show was also successful enough to warrant two additional spinoffs, ‘Agatha,’ which is set to arrive on Disney+ later this year, and ‘Vision Quest,’ show with as-of-yet uncertain release date.
Last year, the WGA Directory listed ‘Vision Quest’ as reportedly arriving during the 2024-2025 TV season. Plenty of fans were excited about the premise, but the SAG-AFTRA strike delayed and altogether halted numerous projects, some of them have even been canceled for good. Now industry inside MyTimeToShineHello has some news for the fans, according to most recent rumors ‘Vision Quest’ should presumably be released as early as 2026.

Speaking with the “Phase Zero” podcast, Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum revealed some interesting details about the early days of the franchise on Disney+.
Five years ago, it seemed that with Marvel’s Midus Touch, everything that the studio put out immediately turned into gold. The Marvel Cinematic Universe was able to crank out billion-dollar hit after billion-dollar hit for parent company Disney, but things have changed significantly since then. Nowadays, Disney CEO Bob Iger is having to fend off questions about franchise fatigue when it comes to Marvel content, and the company has cut back dramatically on the number of Disney+-exclusive shows on its calendar. Marvel Studio’s streaming, television and animation head Brad Winderbaum sat down with Comicbook.com's “Phase Zero” podcast recently to talk about the changes, saying that viewers can expect Marvel projects to continue to be spread out more widely i the future, in large part to avoid exhausting audiences.

Miriam Margolyes is an incredible English and Australian actress who has been part of several revered and acclaimed projects. Yet every Harry Potter fan, or hater, would know her best as the bubbly and cheerful Professor Sprout. Despite only being in two of the eight movies of the popular fantasy franchise, the actress recently came into the limelight when she made a pretty controversial statement about it.

“Harry Potter” franchise professor Miriam Margolyes told News Corp Australia’s News.com.au that she was approached by Marvel to star in a project described to her as “a story about witches. But she ultimately turned it down due to its location, along with the fact that playing the Potter films’ Pomona Sprout had her reluctant to play in the magic world again. Given the timing and Marvel’s projects in development, it appears to be “WandaVision” spinoff miniseries “Agatha.”
The actress explained in the interview, published last year, that the show’s location was a problem for her. “I don’t like America and I didn’t want to be in Georgia for four months,” she said. “So I just said, ‘well, I want a million pounds’ and they said, ‘you can have half a million,’ and I said, ‘no, I don’t want to do it,’ so it just stopped.

In 2024, Disney is set for changes. Following a string of underperforming MCU releases in 2023, Bob Iger emphasized a shift towards prioritizing quality over quantity in their content production. 2024 is bound to be a year of change, at least as far as Disney goes. After several big-budget MCU productions failed in 2023 and were met with a lukewarm reception, Bob Iger himself stated that they will definitely focus on quality over quantity in the future and will scale down their content production. We also know that there are over 20 MCU projects in development or rumored to be in development, and the Star Wars universe also has a full slate of upcoming shows & movies, most of them announced during the 2023 Star Wars Celebration event. Now in recent news, Disney+ confirmed several of those upcoming projects, and most of them are scheduled to be released in 2024 let’s see what they are:

Agatha first appeared in the Disney+ series ‘WandaVision’ as a nosy neighbor who turns out to be a powerful witch wanting to take Wanda’s powers. At the show’s end, she’s defeated and left powerless, stuck in her neighbor persona, setting up her story for the new series. Agatha has a rich history in the comics as a powerful magic user, which ties her to Wanda.

Following the fallout of Jonathan Majors’ conviction, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is getting a new title.
In December last year, Jonathan Majors was convicted on harrassement and assault charges. The state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in the scheme of things the least important thing to be considering, but a few months hence and Marvel appear to be making some headway with its future plans.
Marvel fired Majors just hours after the conviction and is currently in the process of rewriting all films in which Majors was set to appear as the MCU’s next major villain Kang. It appears the plan for Kang now is that all future scripts “will now either minimise the character or excise him entirely”.

WandaVision got the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Disney+ era off to a strong start and it’s not hard to see why. The series featured a compelling love story between a witch and an android, satisfying callbacks to classic sitcoms, and most importantly: Kathryn Hahn.
Hahn is a charismatic performer who tends to elevate just about anything she pops up in. That’s why it was no surprise that her mild-mannered next door neighbor Agnes was revealed to be none other than Agatha Harkness – powerful witch and the architect of all of Wanda’s suffering. Hahn is a charismatic performer who tends to elevate just about anything she pops up in. Wanda’s journey in the MCU is profoundly poignant. Amidst the devastating Novi Grad Bombings, she endured loss and, alongside her brother Pietro, resorted to desperate measures to acquire power for retribution against Tony Stark. Pietro sacrificed himself when they turned against Ultron, leaving Wanda to navigate a path of love with Vision and defiance against Thanos.
Her MCU tenure saw the wrenching loss of Vision, her imagined children, and ultimately her sanity. Yet, she gained a potent compensation—the formidable powers of Scarlet Witch. Before her departure, Wanda executed a crucial act: she obliterated the Darkhold Castle on Wundagore Mountain, eliminating every copy of the Darkhold. The castle’s collapse seemingly claimed her life, as affirmed in the 2023 MCU timeline book. However, fans, fueled by hope, challenge the notion that one of the mightiest Avengers succumbed to mere rubble.

Wanda’s story in the MCU is one of the most heartbreaking. She lost everything in the Novi Grad Bombings, and then, along with her brother Pietro, she turned to desperate means to secure some kind of power to get their vengeance on Tony Stark.
Pietro was lost when the twins turned on Ultron in self-sacrifice, but Wanda continued on, fell in love with Vision, and took a stand against Thanos. By the end of her career in the MCU, she would lose Vision, her imaginary children, and ultimately her own sanity, but she would gain something far more powerful: the powers of Scarlet Witch.
Still, before she went, Wanda did one thing right: she collapsed the Darkhold Castle on Wundagore Mountain on top of herself, destroying every single copy of Darkhold in existence, and the collapse of the castle seemingly led to her death. While her death was confirmed in the 2023 MCU timeline book,...

The finale of the miniseries A Murder at the End of the World came to reveal who the killer was, but if you have been following the series, you pretty much could see that it was going to subvert all your expectations. The seventh episode of the series morphed into a moral lesson about AI after switching from the whodunnit model of storytelling. All the strings were nicely tied up at the end, but in an attempt to give a radically twisted ending to the miniseries, it forced itself to go into a territory that was emotionally too dry. The FX series created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij will be remembered for the atmosphere it built and the emotional investment in the interpersonal dynamics of its characters, if not the ending. The show was so meticulous about driving its points home, especially the details of Bill Farrah and Darby Hart’s relationship,...

A “Black Panther” animated series is in the works at Marvel Studios.
Titled “Eyes of Wakanda,” the new project was teased on Monday night by Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum at an event to promote the second season of the studio’s inaugural animated series, “What If…?”.
“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story,” reads the official logline, per Marvel. The studio has been developing multiple series set in Wakanda with “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler, and a source tells Variety Coogler will also be involved in the forthcoming animated project. Coogler is currently under a multi-year overall TV deal with the Walt Disney Company through his Proximity Media banner.
Along with “Eyes of Wakanda,” the sizzle reel at the “What If…?” event highlighted two other previously announced animated series: “X-Men ’97,” expected to debut in 2024, and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,...

‘WandaVision’ stands as one of Disney+’s top-rated shows, praised for its original take on Wanda’s post-blip life and emotional struggles. The introduction of compelling characters inevitably led to spinoffs, with the White Vision project and rumors of a Wiccan show gaining traction.
One particularly anticipated project is ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ centered around the WandaVision villain, set to release in 2024. Despite teasers and details about the plot and Witches’ Road circulating, the primary focus remains on whether Wanda will make a cameo in ‘Agatha,’ even if a brief one.
Asif Ali, who portrayed Norm in ‘WandaVision,’ initially confirmed Wanda’s appearance in a now-deleted Instagram comment, creating a buzz among fans. However, subsequent statements from Scarlet Witch Updates on Twitter contradicted this, asserting that Wanda won’t be part of the upcoming show in any capacity.

‘WandaVision’ is one of the highest-rated Disney+ shows. The original and unique approach to Wanda’s post-blip life and emotional trauma was well-received by the fans, and some of the characters introduced during the shows inevitably got their own spinoffs. White Vision project has been in the works for some time now, with rumors about the Wiccan show also resurfacing in recent times.
However, one of the most hype-worthy projects appears to be ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ focusing on WandaVision villain, scheduled to release sometime in 2024. Recently, a teaser dropped, and we keep hearing a lot of details about the plot and the Witches’ Road, but among all these details, the main one seems to be whether Wanda will make an appearance in ‘Agatha,’ albeit a small one.

The arrival of “WandaVision” on Blu-ray has brought with it a first look at set footage from the upcoming spinoff series, “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.” The series finds Kathryn Hahn returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as disgraced witch Agatha Harkness. Not much is known about the show, which was first announced in October 2021, but the set footage shows Agatha strolling through the woods with Marvel newcomer Joe Locke (“Heartstopper”). The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone and Caulfield Ford (reprising the role of Dottie from “WandaVision”).
“I remember Kevin [Feige] saying to me, ‘We really should think about an actual Agatha show,’ and I was like, ‘Where do I sign for that job?’” the spinoff’s head writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer says in the teaser below. Schaeffer had those same roles on “Wandavision” and also co-wrote the 2021 Marvel movie “Black Widow.”

The first Marvel / Disney+ series WandaVision is getting a collector’s edition Blu-ray release tomorrow (you can order a copy Here) – and apparently a featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the spin-off / follow-up Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (which was formerly known as Agatha: House of Harkness and then Agatha: Coven of Chaos) is included in the extras! Agatha isn’t expected to start streaming on the Disney+ service until the early fall of 2024 – possibly on September 19, 2024 – so this featurette gets the marketing started quite early.
Some fans have already received their WandaVision Blu-rays and decided to share the featurette on X:

I don't know about you, but after the double whammy of Belfast and Death on the Nile, I was ready to give up on Kenneth Branagh as a director. Yet, like Michael Corleone famously said: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
Turns out that what Branagh and, more specifically, his Agatha Christie adaptations needed was a healthy shot of nonsense plus the spooky seasonings of horror. A Haunting in Venice, now streaming on Hulu, succeeds by untethering itself from literary fidelity, twisting Christie's Hallowe'en Party out of shape in pursuit of maximum entertainment. Though a sense of melancholy pervades, self-serious prestige is abandoned, or mayhap sacrificed at a witches' altar. Kenneth Branagh’s A Haunting in Venice is set over one night in 1947. World War II has mercifully ended, but peace on the streets of Venice is being interrupted by another kind of invasion: Halloween trick-or-treaters. As the mystery novelist Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey) cheekily suggests to her friend, the famed, mustachioed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot (Branagh), the Americans may have left, but their holiday traditions stayed behind.
Halloween wasn’t invented by the Americans. Nor was the tradition of playing dress-up, or telling scary stories in the dark. And that misleading narrative says something about Ariadne’s predilection for spinning a yarn as much as it does the film’s penchant for easy shortcuts and weak suppositions. At its best, A Haunting in Venice, the third of Branagh’s Agatha Christie adaptations, seductively draws us in with evocative, highly textured period details, but at its worst, it’s frequently...

The animated streaming series ‘What If…?’ is one of the most unique and most interesting MCU projects. Not only because of the fact that it was the first animated piece of MCU content but also because everything that happens in this series is non-canonical events that show what would happen if some key moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe had played out differently.
The series’s first season featured nine episodes, some of which were amazing and some were… not. The series features the voice talent of Jeffrey Wright as the Watcher, and various MCU actors have returned to voice their respective characters, with a few exceptions, where new actors were hired to replace actors from live action.
The first season dealt with many key events from the Infinity Saga, and the second one will continue to do so, but it will also dip fingers into the ongoing Multiverse Saga.

The upcoming Disney+ MCU series ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ is still roughly a year away after the latest round of delays, but it has already become unique for something that never happened in the history of the MCU. When the series was first announced in 2021, the official title was ‘Agatha: House of Harkness.’ However, at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige revealed a new title: ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos,’ and the series was recently retitled again to ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.’
This isn’t the first time that Marvel Studios changed the title of already announced projects; ‘The Marvels,’ which is set to open in theaters this November, was initially announced simply as ‘Captain Marvel 2,’ and the fourth ‘Captain America’ movie was officially announced last year as ‘Captain America: New World Order,’ before the title was changed earlier this year to ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ However, it never happened...

You’re sick of hearing of the WGA writer’s strike and the SAG actor’s strike, surely. But the reality is they keep messing with everything. And while they are not the exact culprit here—the writing has been on the wall for Marvel’s Disney+ strategy for a while—it’s certainly not helping things when talent aren’t able to promote the films and TV series that they star in, thus giving studios, streamers, and cable channels pause to promote their content while the strike is ongoing.

What we have suspected for so long has come to pass. The WGA strike began last May, and there are still no signs of resolving it anytime soon. Once the SAG-AFTRA joined with their own strike in July, almost the entire Hollywood stopped, and it remained frozen ever since. For how long this will last is anyone’s guess, and the studios can only keep delaying their movies and TV shows until they finally make a fair deal with both guilds.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe started its Multiverse Saga in 2021 with the ‘WandaVision’ series. although the initial plan was to start it with ‘Black Widow.’ Television and streaming content blossomed during the time pandemic, and almost the entire world was in lockdown. However, when things returned to normal, it became clear that we were getting too much MCU content, and discussions about superhero fatigue are still ever-present among MCU fans.

Uh-oh… has someone put a hex on Disney+’s Agatha-centered WandaVision spinoff?
The spinoff, with Kathryn Hahn reprising her WandaVision role as the witchy villainess, was originally supposed to debut later this year, but it has now been delayed until early fall 2024, timed to the Halloween season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (A source has confirmed the news to TVLine.) For those of you who are keeping score at home, it’s also now on its third title: Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, replacing the previous title Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which in turn replaced the original Agatha: House of Harkness.

The timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has changed again.
Marvel Studios has rescheduled several of its Disney+ shows as the company continues to feel the impact of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The affected shows, in chronological order of release, are:
Season 2 of “What If…?,” the MCU’s first animated series, will now open in December over the holiday season. The show was originally set to debut in early 2023, but has been delayed for unspecified reasons.
“Echo” — a spin-off of 2021’s “Hawkeye” starring Alaqua Cox as Marvel’s first Native American and first deaf superhero — has moved from Nov. 29 to January 2024. The show is still set to release all episodes at once, the first binge release for a Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+.
“X-Men ’97,” an update of the popular animated “X-Men” series from the 1990s, has moved from a fall 2023 release to early 2024.
And finally, the...

Marvel’s TV slate is getting a Hulk-sized shake-up. Multiple upcoming shows, including “Echo” and “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” have gotten their released dates pushed back, TheWrap has confirmed.
At this point, only the second seasons of “Loki” and “What If…?” will retain their slots this year. “Loki” remains set for an Oct. 6 release, while “What If…?” will hit Disney+ closer to Christmas Day. An official date for the animated series remains to be seen.
“Echo,” the “Hawkeye” spin-off starring Alaqua Cox as the titular character, will not be premiering this November, as planned. Instead, it’s been moved to January 2024.
“X-Men ’97,” the animated series that TheWrap exclusively revealed back in 2021, will also drop in early 2024, though what month exactly is unknown.
Meanwhile, “Agatha” got pushed back a full year, jumping from this winter to early Fall 2024. It is also now called “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,” marking its second title change.

Marvel Studios has reshuffled the release dates for its slate of television shows.
What If…? Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos, now titled Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, are among the titles receiving new dates. The move comes amid Hollywood’s strikes as well as a general pullback at Disney+.
The writers strike began May 2 while the actors went on strike July 14, significantly impacting production and development. At the same time, sources say Marvel wants to focus its efforts to make each title an event for fans and audiences. The studio has decided that spreading out its content is a more prudent strategy.
It’s a far cry from last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, when Marvel unveiled plans for Phase 5 and Phase 6 of its movies and television shows. 2023 particularly heavy with shows, with five planned. (Only the spring’s Secret Invasion, October’s Loki and as The Hollywood Reporter can reveal,...
