Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

Disney has shared a new trailer for their upcoming Disney+ streaming service and it’s over 3-hours long! I don’t know if you want to spend over three hours seeing what Disney+ has to offer when it launches, but you have the option!
Disney+ also posted all of the films and TV shows coming to the streaming service on a super long Twitter thread, which I included below the trailer. As you’ll see there’s a ton of stuff that will be available that will make Disney fans happy. Gargoyles and several other classic 90s animated series are among them along with a lot of old weird films that have been pulled out of the Disney vault.
If you don’t want to watch the trailer or scroll through the Twitter feed, I shared the full list of titles for you. Check everything out below and let us...

“I spend a lot of time thinking of the Hereafter – each time I enter a room I wonder what I’m here after.” — Tim Conway (1933-2019)
Funny man Tim Conway, who died on May 14 at the age of 85, inhabited many lives as a TV sidekick staple in the ’60s and ’70s. He was the bumbling Ensign Charles Parker opposite Ernest Borgnine‘s Quinton McHale, the commanding officer of a U.S. Navy Pt boat during World War II. Conway’s goofy dimwit would often succeed in spite of himself. The series ran for four seasons from 1962 to ’66.
Conway would gain greater fame and acclaim on “The Carol Burnett Show” from 1967 to ’78, originally as a frequent guest during the variety series’ first eight seasons and later as a regular for the last three. His recurring characters in sketches included The Oldest Man who would take an eternity to achieve any action and Mr.

Once upon a time, most movie theaters showed more than a single feature. For the price of your ticket, you’d get two movies, maybe a cartoon, sometimes a featurette. You got good value for your money in those days especially at second or third run theaters or revival houses. This was in the days before DVD, Blu-Ray, or even VHS.
In fact, for a long time, the movie studios only got one bite of the apple. Oh, a few movies might show up again; Disney did a good job of bringing classics out of their vaults. When the movies were sold to show on TV, that would also generate some revenue but nothing like today when a major part of the money made by films comes from Blu-Ray and DVD sales. (Aside: I wonder how true that will remain with Netflix and Hulu, et al.)

Femme fatale Audrey Totter: Film noir actress and MGM leading lady dead at 95 (photo: Audrey Totter ca. 1947) Audrey Totter, film noir femme fatale and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer contract player best remembered for the mystery crime drama Lady in the Lake and, at Rko, the hard-hitting boxing drama The Set-Up, died after suffering a stroke and congestive heart failure on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles County. Reportedly a resident at the Motion Picture and Television Home in Woodland Hills, Audrey Totter would have turned 96 on Dec. 20. Born in Joliet, Illinois, Audrey Totter began her show business career on radio. She landed an MGM contract in the mid-’40s, playing bit roles in several of the studio’s productions, e.g., the Clark Gable-Greer Garson pairing Adventure (1945), the Hedy Lamarr-Robert Walker-June Allyson threesome Her Highness and the Bellboy (1945), and, as an adventurous hitchhiker riding with John Garfield,...

Josh brought his Mousterpiece Cinema podcast to Sound on Sight this time last year, starting by reposting his older podcasts beginning with his very first podcast about Cars 2.
One of Ricky D‘s constructive criticisms for Josh on joining the site was that his best podcasts were the ones where he was joined by a guest like Gabriel Bucsko for their podcast on The Muppets film. Since Gabe actually works in Hollywood (an experience he discussed during the podcast on the cinematic atrocity Disney Animated classic Fox and the Hound 2) he is not regularly available to do the podcast. I volunteered to be a more regular co-host, taking the opportunity of Gabe being around to boycott films I had no interest in watching or re-watching like say the Disney Direct to Video Sequels, Midquels and Prequels, or films I couldn’t get my hands on, or allow me to...

Is The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again one of the greatest and most underrated sequels of all time? Is it a cinematic classic? Or is it a movie so bad that even Mike said it’s “terrible”? You can, of course, take a wild guess, but we bet you know the answer. After discussing the 1975 original at the end of September, it’s time for Mike and Josh to tackle this 1979 follow-up, placing Don Knotts and Tim Conway as leading men as well as comic relief. They don’t exactly pull it off, sadly, partly because Knotts and Conway are only so funny, and partly because this movie is so packed with Western-movie cliches, it gave your hosts whiplash. But don’t let that scare you away–take a listen to the new episode, to listen to, among other topics, exactly how unfortunate it is that Muppet Treasure Island made less than,...

The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again
Directed by Vincent McEveety
Written by Don Tait
Starring Don Knotts, Tim Conway, Tim Matheson, Elyssa Davalos
I feel like I’m going to turn into a broken record, writing these columns, before the podcast even gets to its 100th episode. I keep coming back to the notion of nostalgia, to whether there is a great amount of inherent value in appreciating something from the past, simply because you liked it in the past. It’s not that I don’t have nostalgia for things I cherished in my childhood, it’s that I don’t let that guide me. For example, though I won’t be writing an extended-thoughts column solely dedicated to it, I imagine the idea of nostalgia will be very strong in relation to the new Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph, which takes place in a fictional video-game arcade with some...

The Apple Dumpling Gang
Directed by Norman Tokar
Written by Don Tait
Starring Don Knotts, Tim Conway, Bill Bixby, Susan Clark
Oh, my stupid memory. While I hadn’t exactly built up, in my mind, The Apple Dumpling Gang as a true live-action classic from Walt Disney Pictures, I clearly fooled myself. As I mentioned on the show, I have vague memories of watching this film and its sequel, The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. The more I ponder those memories, the more I realize that I don’t remember the movies themselves so much as the experience of having watched them, renting them on VHS from my local library. I had a glimmer of watching Don Knotts and Tim Conway play bumbling thieves in the Old West…and that’s it. I had hopes for watching the 1975 film, which is apparently Disney’s most successful live-action film of the 1970s (not too shabby,...
