The picture's budget of US $750,000 was financed from pre-sales to a number of European countries according to an interview with filmmaker Henry Jaglom published in the 3rd December 1980 issue of show-business trade-paper 'Daily Variety'. These nations in Europe were Spain, France, Italy and West Germany.
The head waitress that appeared in the Holiday Inn scenes was actually a real-life waitress who worked at the Holiday Inn motel-hotel.
The film was selected to screen in May 1980 in competition in the 'Un Certain Regard' section of the Cannes Film Festival in France. Filmmaker Henry Jaglom later actually made a picture called Festival in Cannes (2001).
