The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Plenty of grisly war violence, including people being cut open, shot, and blown apart by napalm. The other half of the film is set in New York, where the main character is set off by the various issues he face upon returning, and he subsequently goes on a gunman's rampage. 3 gang members are shot and killed with bloody results. He returns home covered in blood. He picks the gun back up and goes into the baby's bedroom where he sees the mom. The baby's crying sets him off again, and he shoots his wife under the impression she was Viet Cong. This only makes the baby cry louder, and he goes over to it and shoots it with his revolver. Realizing what he just did, he cradles the baby in his arms shortly before it dies. He then places it in an oven and turns it on. He then shoots himself in the head.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • All the scenes of violence are quite alarming. The whole movie itself is quite disturbing and grey.
