For the movie's Australian theatrical release, "the film was given previews in the two major capital city markets - for example in Melbourne, Hoyts previewed the film on Wednesday 19th March 1985" and "it was also previewed in Sydney, and opened in that city at Hoyts on 20th March 1986", according to the Oz Movies website.
The picture was put into development by its producer 'Jill Robb in 1984 which was the following year after Robb had produced Careful, He Might Hear You (1983) picture had won 8 AFI (Australian Film Institute) Awards including Best Film.
