Sex & Nudity

  • In the scene with the kids in the treehouse, Rudy is shown peeping at a girl with binoculars. The teenage girl is clearly seen in her bra and underwear for several seconds. It is meant to be provocative.
  • A teenage boy with binoculars checks out a teenage girl undressing (no nudity is seen, just underwear) Frankenstien's monster accidently takes a photo of a teenage girl next door undressing (no nudity is seen).
  • The kids have an ongoing argument regarding whether or not wolfman has genitals. A boy kicks the wolfman in the testicles and exclaims in surprise "Wolfman's got nards!?!"

Violence & Gore

  • Despite the movie's reputation as a family film, it contains several scenes of significant violence and gore.
  • This film is actually quite violent in some places: A werewolf is (literally) blown into bloody pieces (after he attacks a boy and his father) and then pulls his parts back together, a swamp creature has a bloody hole blown through his chest by a shotgun after he strangles some policemen, a car is blown up by dynamite(with someone in it) by Dracula, then the survivor fires bullets at him, we see 2 vampiresses get shot in the heart by a bow and arrow (blood is seen) and another getting stabbed in the heart by a wooden steak, some mild slapstick violence involving Frankenstien's monster and the kids, a man storms into a police station throwing a violent tantrum and eventually is shot by police, later he comes back as a werewolf and strangles someone (suggested bite), Dracula is impaled on a fence and then gets stabbed with a stake in the heart before being sucked into a vortex. . Some skeletal corpses pop out of the ground. The Mummy character is skeletal and corpsey looking.

Profanity

  • 1 use of fuck, doofus, oh god, stupid, shut up, god, my god, whore, spaz, oh my god and gosh 2 uses of wuss and bitch 1 paired with son of a 3 uses of hell and Jesus christ 4 uses of fag 6 uses of damn 3 paired with god 5 uses of virgin and ass 3 paired with hole 12 uses of shit 1 paired with chicken
  • Some rude (suggestive) comments made by the kids, and quite a lot of swearing/profanities like shit, damn, hell, bitch both made by and directed towards children.
  • A kid refers to women as "Skaggs", two teenage boys refer to another character as a "faggot" twice, the regular kids talk about someone being a "homo". A kid calls his friend "buttlove". They use the term "phead" several times. They shout 'kick him in the "nards"' several times. Again, not profanity, but the kid Horace is often referred to as "Fat Kid" and teased about his weight.
  • A very little girl clearly says "don't be chickenshit."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A military sergeant some a cigar. He takes at least 2 puffs then takes it out.
  • The oldest member of the group, Rudy, smokes cigarettes in some scenes. One of the kids dads often smokes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Dracula is depicted as a creature of pure evil and can be very frightening, especially for younger audiences. The rest of the monsters range from sympathetic to menacing; but all are dangerous and pose great threat to the human characters throughout.
  • Intense depictions of scary monsters. The make-up effects are quite detailed and frightening, sometimes containing bloody violence and gore.
  • The monsters might scare little ones, the last 15 minutes of the film might be intense for some.
