A large abstract painting, sat on the floor of the house on the beach, is shown several times. The painting's central figure is a pyramid with two faces to the front, one pitch black, the other bright golden - such as the two contrasting personalities of Rita and Anne, or the two sides of each of those young women. The painting is by António Charrua (1925-2008).
The film's negative was sequestered by the courts following the producer's bankruptcy, and was only delivered back circa 2003, thus remaining invisible for several years.
