Accomplished screenwriter and actor Shane Connaughton is to be the subject of an exclusive 'In Conversation With' event in Dublin next month which has been organised by the Irish Film and Television Academy (Ifta). Connaughton, whose screenwriting credits include 'My Left Foot', 'The Playboys' and 'Tara Road', will discuss his screenwriting and acting career at the event for Ifta Members in The New Theatre on East Essex Street in Dublin's Temple Bar.

Irish actor Aidan Quinn, who was raised in Chicago and Rockford, as well as in Dublin and Birr, County Offaly in Ireland, gave an in-depth interview to the Chicago Tribune about his career to date and being from Ireland. Quinn is best known for playing Alfred Ludlow in "Legends of the Fall". Quinn who stared in Irish movies "Michael Collins" and "The Playboys", has a slew of other movies under his belt including "Avalon," Benny and Joon," "Desperately Seeking Susan" and Music of the Heart." The BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum will spotlight 'The Colony', from Irish screenwriter Aisling Corristine next week with a workshop co-chaired by fellow Irish-woman, director Farah Abushwesha. The BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum has announced that an extract of new original work from Irish author Aisling Corristine (The Road Less Travelled), will be workshopped in front of an industry audience at BAFTA in London on Monday, November 30th at 7.30pm. 'The Colony' is a new sci-fi feature penned by the Irish writer. Irish writer, director and producer Farah Abushwesha (director, Chicken Soup, producer, Scouting Book for Boys, Micro Men) will co-chair the event in her role as Rocliffe founding member and will be joined in the task by director Gillies Mackinnon (Hideous Kinky, Tara Road, The Playboys).
