In this movie Mimi Rogers spends most of the time with her clothes off, getting a nude full body massage by her costar Bryan Brown. Asked if it felt great, she said, "I thought it would, but nothing I did felt good. I was either straining my neck or laying on a cold metal table. I did that because I thought it was a fascinating script with interesting dialogue. Sort of like 'My Dinner With Andre' with a massage table. Also, it was an opportunity to work with Nicolas Roeg. He waited for me to have my baby so we shot four-and-a-half months after I gave birth. My body was not what it usually is."
When Fitch tells Nina about the history of massage, he mentions that the Greek philosopher "Plato lived to be 104", to which Nina replies that the philosopher "Socrates did not". In actuality, research shows that Plato lived to be 80, while Socrates lived to be 71.
