Dal McKennon: Gumby, Claybert, Fatbuckle, Kapp
Quotes
-
Gumby : Well I certainly want to deactivate the Gumby robot.
-
Gumby : Hey, Thinbuckle, I wanna ride in the cab!
-
Fatbuckle : Boy, that driver must think he's going to a fire.
Thinbuckle : I wish we were going to a fire. This air conditioning is freezing.
[Thinbuckle yawns and then falls asleep]
Nobuckle : I'm cold and stiff, I can't move!
-
[while thinking of a solution for a fundraiser]
Gumby : [to Fatbuckle] Fatbuckle, I like the sound of "farmer's benefits". So, is it settled? We'll have benefit concerts?
Fatbuckle : I'm all for it!
Thinbuckle : I'm all for it!
-
Professor Kapp : Oh my! This music does things to my brain!
Prickle : It does things to my spine!
Goo : It makes me feel funny all over!
-
Claybert : I'll tell you, it's cold in here; colder than a witch's heart. Must be a light switch here some way.
-
Gumby : Hey, fellas! What do you know? Our first break on TV! Lucky sure works fast.
Fatbuckle : [drumbeat]
Thinbuckle : Man, our first TV appearance!
[guitar solo]
Nobuckle : Wow! Think I should get a haircut?
-
Claybert : It's my fault, I told that robot I wanted to meet you, not eat you.
-
[at the benefit concert, giving their opinions on the Clayboy's music]
Professor Kapp : Oh my! This music does things to my brain!
Prickle : It does things to my spine!
Goo : It makes me feel funny all over!

[Goo gives Lowbelly his lunch]
Goo : Here, Lowbelly. Here's your lunch.
Goo : [picks up the pearl Lowbelly cried earlier] Oh, what a pretty marble!
[Goo returns to the table]
Goo : [showing Gumby the pearl] Gumby, look at this strange marble I found in the hay. Isn't it beautiful?
[Goo gives the pearl to Gumby]
Goo : Gumby, look at this strange marble I found in the hay. Isn't it beautiful?
Gumby : [examining the pearl] It's a beauty alright; but I don't think it's a marble. It looks like a pearl!
[Gumby gives the pearl to Thinbuckle to examine]
Gumby : [to Thinbuckle] Here, Thinbuckle. What does it look like to you?
Thinbuckle : [after close examination] It sure looks like a pearl my dad bought for my mother, and it cost a lotta money, man!
[Thinbuckle passes the pearl back to Gumby who then passes it over to Fatbuckle; Fatbuckle puts the pearl in his mouth and bites it]
Thinbuckle : [Fatbuckle takes the pearl out of his mouth and gives it back to Gumby]
Fatbuckle : [after examining the pearl] I'll bet it's a real pearl! I'd say it's worth at least a thousand dollars!
Gumby : Well, I'm gonna show it to Professor Kapp. He'll tell us if it's real for sure!
[Gumby visits Professor Kapp's lab and startles the professor]
Gumby : [after knocking over a shelf filled with beakers and bunsen burners] Oh, I'm awfully sorry, professor. I shouldn't pop in on you so fast like that.
Professor Kapp : Don't worry about that, son. It was just one of my many unsuccessful experiments. No harm done, really. Oh my! Well then, what can I do for you, Gumby?
Gumby : [about the pearl] Goo found this in our barn. We thought you could tell us if it's a real pearl or not.
[Gumby gives Professor Kapp the pearl]
Professor Kapp : Now, uh... let me get a good look at this with my crystal lazienalizer.
[Kapp places the pearl inside the analyzer as the machine analyzes it]
Professor Kapp : [pointing to the computer screen] Oh, and on this screen over here, we'll soon get the answer.
Gumby : [as the computer reads out the data] Wow! Thank you, professor! This'll be a good start on our farmer's benefit fund. We are having a benefit concert in the park tomorrow, and you're invited!
Professor Kapp : [to Gumby; as he leaves his lab] Oh, thank you, Gumby! I wouldn't miss it for anything!
-
[Gumby is locked in the back of the refrigerator van by the Thinbuckle robot]
Gumby : Hey, Thinbuckle! I wanna ride in the cab.
-
[Gumby enters Professor Kapp's lab; Professor Kapp is startled by Gumby's presence and knocks over a set of glass shelves filled with test tubes and beakers loaded with chemicals which all shatter causing a mess on the floor]
Gumby : Oh, I'm awfully sorry, Professor. I shouldn't pop in on you so fast like that.
Professor Kapp : Oh, don't worry, son. That was just one of my many unsuccessful experiments. No harm done really. Oh my! Now then, what can I do for you, Gumby?
Gumby : [while presenting the pearl that Goo found in the barn near Lowbelly] Goo found this in our barn. We thought you could tell us if it's a real pearl or not.
[Gumby hands the pearl to Professor Kapp]
Professor Kapp : Now, hmm. Now, um, lemme have a good look at this with my crystal laser analyzer.
[Gumby follows Professor Kapp over to the analyzer who then places the pearl on the tray; Kapp then walks over the computer and presses a key to start the anaylzer]
Professor Kapp : Oh, and on this screen over here, we'll soon get the answer!
[Kapp taps a couple of keys on the keyboard of the computer that bring up the chemical, type, and value in that order; the computer reads out the data]
Gumby : Wow! Thank you, Professor. This'll be a good start on our Farmer's benefit fund. We're having a benefit concert in the park tomorrow, and you're invited!
[Gumby leaves Professor Kapp's lab]
Professor Kapp : Oh, thank you, Gumby. I wouldn't miss it for anything!

[Goo gives Lowbelly his lunch]
Goo : Here, Lowbelly. Here's your lunch.
[Goo notices the pearl in the hay that Lowbelly cried when the band was rehearsing earlier]
Goo : Ooh, what a pretty marble!
[Goo picks up the pearl and heads back to the table where everyone is eating; she gives the pearl to Gumby]
Goo : Gumby, look at this strange marble I found in the hay. Isn't it beautiful?
Gumby : [examining the pearl] It's a beauty, all right. But I don't think it's a marble. It looks like a pearl. Here, Thinbuckle. What's it look like to you?
[Gumby hands the pearl to Thinbuckle; Thinbuckle examines it]
Thinbuckle : Sure looks like a pearl my dad bought for my mother; and it cost a lotta money, man!
[Thinbuckle passes it back to Gumby who then hands it over to Fatbuckle who puts it in his mouth and attempts to bite down on it; Fatbuckle takes the pearl out of his mouth and hands it back to Gumby]
Fatbuckle : I'll bet it's a real pearl! I say it's worth at least, a thousand dollars.
Gumby : Well, I'm gonna show it to Professor Kapp. He'll tell us if it's real for sure!

[Gumby, Prickle, Goo, and the Clayboys are having lunch in the barn after the band's rehearsal]
Goo : Thank you, Fatbuckle; and I picked everything fresh from the garden.
Gumby : Uh, say. Where's Pokey? He's usually always hungry.
Prickle : Oh, he's still out in the car. He's feeling bad about something.
Gumby : Golly! I'd better go see what's the matter.
[Gumby excuses himself and heads outside to the car to find a depressed Pokey sitting in the backseat]
Gumby : Pokey, what's the matter? Are you sick?
Pokey : Oh, I'm not much good to you anymore. Now that you're always playing with the Clayboys.
Gumby : Oh, I didn't realize you felt left out. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. You're going to be with me in the new dance act! You'll be out in the front of the band with me!
[Pokey perks up at the news]
Pokey : Sounds like fun! I'm suddenly real hungry.
[Pokey gets out of the car and walks with Gumby back into the barn]
Gumby : Goo fixed you a carrot cucumber tomato sandwich.
